Saturday April 27th National League, Play-Off Semi-Final Barnet 0-4 Solihull Moors National League North, Play-Off Semi-Final Scunthorpe United 0-0 Boston United* (AET) National League South, Play-Off Semi-Final Chelmsford City 2-3 Braintree Town (AET) Sunday April 28th National League, Play-Off Semi-Final Bromley 3-1 Altrincham National League North, Play-Off Semi-Final Brackley Town 1-0 Chorley National League South, Play-Off Semi-Final Worthing 2-1 Maidstone United (* Won on penalties.)
Barnets 7th attempt at playoffs since 91. Hopefully we can actually reach a final for the first time! I have no faith but the majority of players had the experience of playoffs last season so that should help. I'll stick money on Solihull to soften the envitable defeat!
Well ,from a selfish point of view,I don’t want you to go up. One of my fave away days Barnet, while Solihull is on par with Gateshead as the worst away day in the league. Sorry mate!
To be honest anyone who has fans can come up. So Maidstone (or Worthing?) from NLS, Scunny/Boston, possibly Chorley. Big NO to anyone else.
We had them in pre season and Chorley is a brilliant day out if you like a beer. Spoiled for choice with pubs. Their ground is a bit on the basic side mind you but at least they play on real grass. And they are actually in the North, unlike Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire! Noticed Maidstone have rebuilt their away end since we visited in the cup. Wouldn't mind them coming up too much. But Worthing looks a miles better trip.
i'd like to see Chelmsford make a good account of themselves as historically they've always had a decent following. No other reason and certainly don't like the athletic stadium they now play at. Still if it's good enough for the Heed.........
Not having this, Scunthorpe is further North than Manchester. North Lincolnshire is absolutely in the North of England
Chorley still wins. And they don't paint East Midlands on their ambulances. Manchester at 53.48 N Scunthorpe 53.58 N Chorley 53.65 N Boston and Brackley though are definitely not Northern. NL needs to revoke their play off qualification. If they can bugger up Gateshead's season they can do it for someone else.
Maybe they ought to go back to having 3 feeder leagues for the National League, which was the situation before 2004. On the other hand, that would make it even harder to win promotion to the National League.
Never been to Chorley, but the ground looks great. Although Boston was a trek,it was a great away day & I loved their old ground.
Barnet v Alty final please. The other 2 I want nowhere near the football league, they can get to ****.
