Is there no excitement/bandwagon growing with your signings? You should absolutely walk the league with some of the players you’ve brought in
There is, but a) we had an abysmal last season that probably put people off (things going wrong in all aspects of the club) and b) we’re still miles off where we were at our peak (Championship). We had nearly double the amount of STH’s back then. Even in L1, we had 6,000+ STH on the regular so we’ve lost 2,000 along the journey back down to L2 I guess. Will take time to regain even in spite of one seemingly unbelievable summer transfer window. This is a different level but we did think we’d done good business last year too so I guess once burned and all that. If we do as well as we all think, then we should get some real bumper crowds though (like we had 17,000+ in vs Morecambe when we won this league and 20,000+ when we got promoted another time out of here against Mansfield). The walk ups will make up for those sitting on the fence. 4,000+ STH is still respectable though all that said going into our third consecutive year at this level and off the back of our worst ever season, particularly when compared to many at this level.
No doubt down to magic man Barry Cotter and some random German signing recently the club have just announced season ticket sales approaching 6,200. Undeniably impressive once again and surprisingly more than last season.
Club’s done a brilliant job of growing the fan base over the last few years in a way that is completely detached from online sentiment. Of course the results on the pitch will correlate but they’re doing a good job of improving the matchday experience, ticket prices remain very competitive, and anecdotally from people I know with kids in schools in and around the city, Notts’ presence there has tripled as well. we’re also hopefully benefitting from the success of Forest as well, it’s impossible to get a ticket at their rusty decaying stadium these days. Next best option? The San Sirrel.
We've apparently sold over 2,000, which is a record number of sales for us in League 2, and maybe even League 1 (but I can't be sure on that).
I know absolutely nothing about him tbh but he's certainly made an impact with red card and worldie finish in pre season. For Notts to be successful he and other loans simply have to work out.
We certainly are benefiting from the dodgy fat Greek's impressive work across the river. Match day prices of £50-70 to see a Category A (?) game against Brentford in an unacceptable old stand is doing Notts no harm.
I'm not treading any new ground here, but I thought I'd check, and it is truly mental that it can cost more for a 4 year old to go to Forest than it would to have an adult and two kids under 12 at Notts.
Prices for season tickets really have jumped a bit everywhere the last few years. I remember getting mine for way less but honestly, £299 still sounds alright compared to what a few mates are paying at their clubs. Where you sit definitely makes a difference too. The main thing for me is just having that routine and knowing I’m going to every game, even if the price isn’t as crazy cheap as before. I try to stretch my footy budget when I can, so when I'm looking at away games or cup ties I usually check sites like StarTickets.com for good seats or if I need extras last minute, https://www.startickets.com/. Makes it less stressful when club allocations are tight or sold out.
2,000 down on our L1 days yes. Then again off the back of our worst ever season so unsurprising I guess.
It's not that low is it ? Assume its in the top 5 or 6 with Notts , Chesterfield , us , Bristol and possibly Tranmere/ Oldham ?
All us big boys. I mean it’s not amazing compared to when we were getting 6,000+ but then again we normally spend our time frequenting L1, not L2 so makes sense. 4,200 is still more STH’s than half the club’s get total attendances in this division so I would agree it’s not bad at all!
Think we would be about the same after people went mad on them for that cup game , luckily the club only let existing account holders buy them as many united fans were trying to buy them just to go to that 1 game which i found mental .
We seem to have fewer walk up sales than the other clubs with big ST numbers even allowing for fewer away fans. As we are still announcing turnstile clicks rather tickets sold the exact walk-up figure is difficult to calculate, but we are certainly lower than Chesterfield and Notts. I'd hope we build up our 1878 membership now with the £20 ticket price for the Osmond so we fill it when the visitors can't.
