Hard not to see similarities to last season, and I carnt help see it becoming a problem again. Hope I’m wrong.
There’s time for him to come good, he’s 7 games in, but i didn’t see it before we signed him, despite burton last year i recalled him being bang average whenever he played and he’s barely that now. Plenty played badly today, but maybe with taking him back off again cloughs realised.
I definitely thought they were toothless with all their possession in the second half, but yeah I thought they had a 10 minute spell where they looked a threat.
Correct, the only time we looked half decent was between our equaliser and your second goal, gifted by your ex Joe Wright, who after a good start here, has been abysmal last two games since returning from injury. Over the coming season, like last, I dont think there will be much between us in terms of results and where we finish. We will both comfortably finish well above the relegation zone.

A few fans getting frustrated with Byers now, wasn’t great today and after an injury hit season last year needs to prove his big wage is good money spent. He should be a stand out midfielder at this level really. Mo Faal id happily send back to Wrexham he was awful again today, Paton was miles better when he came on. Marosi as well shown why he was dropped as number 1. Woeful. Didn’t realise how bad the first goal was until I saw it back!
My 12 year streak of Orient not losing when I go to watch England play instead of them continues, pity I can fit all the games for both into the next two international breaks. We had a bit of luck in the end to win, but despite the fact our balance when defending this season has been poor, our attacking players for the most part have stepped up to the plate, Josh Koroma has been excellent for us and Aaron Connolly is slowly getting better for us. Good to see Ballard score as well.
Oh dear. This isn't going well is it? Once again we have probably 2/3rds of the match as the better team but still contrive to lose it. Yet another teams fans saying it was daylight robbery etc. It feels a lot like last time we were at this level. We get lots of plaudits but at the moment every single mistake we make is being punished with a goal...it's relentless. The 3 goals we conceded today unfortunately deserved us to lose the game. The 1st 2 were just free men at the back post....the winner was just a joke all round. I feel like we have the players and the team to do really well but it's just not happening for us. I actually feel a bit sorry for Moore because he's putting out a team that is better than the opposition in general play, but we have these horrific lapses in concentration and seem to be punished ruthlessly for them. What's mega frustrating is the opposition hasn't been that good. Orient looked decent for about 20 minutes when we let them knock it about like a training session, but as soon as we put pressure on them, they looked really vulnerable and ordinary. Another couple of poor refereeing decisions again today that haven't gone for us but that's par for the course and we can't mention it on here of course. I don't know what the answer is. We look good enough but everything seems to be against us at the moment.
So many Bradford city players were off their game yesterday, I seriously wonder if there's some kind of flu bug going around, so I completely understand why Doncaster fans think we might be in a false position. I certainly thought the same about a few of the fancied sides when we played them, especially Luton. Doncaster played well though. Hopefully just one poor match from us though.
Yep, nowhere near good enough. I'm not sure what the recruitment team saw with him, Waine or Shipley and Marosi. Poor signings.
What is the issue that you're finding with Marosi? Didn't think he'd be bumbling around without a club for so long when he left us unless it was wage demands. Shipley on the other had needs things blowing in his direction. Good player in a decent team, but a bit of a luxury/waste of space if things arent going your way
Hopefully Grant sees now that we can’t have Kane and Wiles starting together. Leaves us so open. Castledine was the difference when he came off the bench. Must start next week. Apart from that we didn’t really need second gear yesterday.
Watched the extended highlights this morning , that Sorensen in your team looks a very tidy player but I couldn't help but giggle at the Joe Taylor miss after Bass had gone walkabout albeit he got his revenge out pacing our 19 yr old CB carthorse George Nevett , I've never seen a slower teenager in all my life .
Castledine was good for Shrewsbury last season in a poor team. Was only playing 60-70 minutes each week before being taken off. Ainsworth then started playing him 90 minutes but he ended up with a stress fracture at the end of January which finished his season, and with it ours. We had next to no attacking threat after his injury (and Bloxham being sold the week before)
Marosi is just too much of a maverick. You need a keeper who is a steady, calming influence on the defence. He comes out when he shouldn't, flaps at crosses, his distribution is poor and he isn't even a good shot stopper. Most things go straight through him. Awful and the sooner our other keeper comes back from international duty the better. Shipley just doesn't seem to have any redeeming features. He's not quick, not particularly skillful, not good in the air. The best you can say about him is he puts the odd decent free kick in. With the greatest of respect, we shouldn't have been signing someone who couldn't get into a poor team at this level.
Also from a vale perspective you’ve had a relatively kind start too, so to not win any of them would be a concern. Don’t worry we’re due at your place in a fortnight, we always lose to teams who’ve not won in ages or bottom of the league. We somehow managed to lose to bottom of the league 3 weeks in a row last season (the 2 sides became bottom of the league as we’d lost to the bottom of the league side the week before (if that makes sense))
Every team in this division is at the mercy of poor refereeing, it’s not a “you” problem. It evens itself out over a season. It’s just the majority of us don’t post about it as it is a weekly occurrence. Reality is, you are losing games as your defending is not good enough. What you have described perfectly demonstrates the difference between league one and two, last season you get away with it, this season you don’t and get punished. It is a harsh lesson.
I think i said about Marosi's distribution at the start of the season. He was never great on crosses here, but would dig himself put of a hole with his shot stopping. He won us numerous points in his time at Shrewsbury. He would throw in the odd game where if it went wrong it would go monumentally wrong with loads of mistakes. I don't think I could say what Shipley's best position is. He came here almost as a winger but could play in a number 10 role, but we barely saw him in either position. Most of his first season was LWB due to injuries. He can put in a good cross, but as you day he's not the quickest and isn't great defensively. I thought he would end up bottom end of league 1 or top end of league 2 mainly due to wages and his name from his Coventry days rather than with us. I would have guessed Walsall, but thought he would aim to stay midlands based
Yesterday's defeat was certainly down to poor defending but it hasn't been the story of the season. We were actually in the top few for goals conceded before yesterday. We just aren't getting the balance right because yesterday we score 2 but leave the back wide open but before that we were tight but couldn't score. It's true that you get punished more readily, we know that from last time. It generally feels that when things aren't going for you, it gets worse. We hit the post twice and the bar yesterday. We're having goals disallowed, men sent off wrongly. Even Orients manager said that Moore must feel like he's run over a black cat! I've mentioned previously that we're 2 or 3 poor decisions away from midtable. I can't recall a single decision that has gone for us yet in 7 games that has been game defining, but already probably 3 against us. It happened last year but fortunately we were able to win enough to make the decisions negligible. But I guess these all seem like excuses. I still maintain that we're a much better team than the last time we got relegated and once the right formula is reached, we'll go on a run. Unfortunately, we're eating up games quickly and not getting any points. Ultimately, we may have to eventually blame the manager if he can't get the combination right. There's no way on paper we should be 13 points behind Donny when you compare teams. If we had their manager, I'm starting to think we'd be in their position.
