Should have taken more, but it is a bit of a trek like. There was about 400 up there when we got to the Championship for the first year! I was expecting 3,000 tbh. Basically people moaning that the trains were a nightmare £100 plus, basically couldn't afford it. Club needed to put on some coaches. Hey ho.
Over 1,000 Tangerines making the trip to Posh for a nothing game & a 12.30 kick off if it was the other way round they'd be no more than 300 Posh probably .
Cracking support. Always made a good noise at Vicarage Road too. Hoping to go up there next season as long as it isn't midweek like last time.
3,700 of us going up to Hull tomorrow. Incredible when you consider there's absolutely nothing to play for
done 12 away this season Rotherham (pre season) Fulham Derby Coventry Hull Huddersfield Stoke Blackpool Mansfield (FA Cup) Man Utd (FA Cup) Barnsley Preston best i reckon was Blackpool and Man Utd worst i think was Stoke just by the way the police at the end of the game treated the fans it was shocking i've got a tin of pepper spray lets use it............
What is it with the Old Bill and pepper spray. We had the same problem at Fulham. Bad enough they were wading into everyone with their truncheons. As usual innocent fans get caught up in it. Policing hasn't changed sine the notorious 80s even though the make up of the fanbase is very different.
Thought we'd be bottom with our limited capacity, but obviously Dean Court must be around the same. Like us I'd imagine they sell out their home sections. Unlike us they don't seem to have a new ground on the horizon which is baffling for a club with so many riches.
Various plans for either expansion or new build have been on and off for years due to land issues, which I gather is similar to Luton. Local political cooperation changes direction with the wind. The ground does look a bit sorry for itself and could use some TLC, as well as more seats! If you can believe it, capacity was actually reduced upon promotion to the PL in 2015, due to PL requirements of entry around media and corporate capacity (far more important to the PL than general admission capacity ), and more wheelchair platforms (fair enough).
Reduced from what? We can't reduce ours anymore its low enough as it is and it's hardly worth investing money in KR when work on our new stadium is soon to commence. Unlikely the PL would cooperate in which case we have a problem, should we get promoted of course. Yep can identify with land issues. We've had more planning applications turned down than Watford have had managers. Ok I'm exaggerating a little!
3rd best home support, is fantastic, when we started with just 14000 turning up due to all the problems with selling tickets, and to get 23000 when relagated is out standing, only clubs like Sunderland, Leeds Wednesday and Man city managed around the same when getting relagated to Division one. Great support for a city of Derby's size as well.
I agree. Was more about who finished second. But i know you think their numbers would be drastically lower if roles were reversed.
Final away averages for the season (with final league position) 1. Middlesborough 2260 (7th) 2. Sheff Utd 2257 (5th) 3. Forest 2230 (4th) 4. Blues 2106 (20th) 5. WBA 2071 (10th) 6. Coventry 1934 (12th) 7. Derby 1813 (23rd) 8. Blackburn 1536 (8th) 9. Huddersfield 1459 (3rd) 10. QPR 1456 (11th) 11. Stoke 1432 (14th) 12. Bournemouth 1344 (2nd) 13. Fulham 1342 (1st) 14. Blackpool 1306 (16th) 15. Luton 1294 (6th) 16. Cardiff 1247 (18th) 17. PNE 1223 (13th) 18. Bristol City 1187 (17th) 19. Millwall 1077 (9th) 20. Hull 1028 (19th) 21. Swansea 985 (15th) 22. Reading 958 (21st) 23. Barnsley 860 (24th) 24. Peterborough 792 (22nd) You have to doth your cap to Boro, despite chasing the play offs most of the season, that’s a pretty impressive number for only 6 wins in return. Solid from Blues for only 4 wins returned & relegated but for points deductions. Unlikely to have ever seen the two automatically promoted teams outside of the top ten (not that they’ll care). Only 4 clubs with 3 figure totals, people glad to be back being miserable in football stadiums again, roll on next season!!!!
Surprised we're not top but then again I looked at our away games this season and the majority of the ones where we'd be expecting to take big numbers were evening mid week games (Barnsley, WBA, Sheffield United) and a few decent ones (Stoke, Coventry) were under Hughton
I doth my cap to Boro. We're above Fulham at something What's the matter with you lot in the midlands, you're all on each other's doorstep ffs
