Can't knock the team today - brief times of excitement thinking we may pull off the escape but ultimately not to be. I think we would have struggled again next season anyway if we'd stayed up. Heartbroken is the right word. Forest lot on here been brilliant this season - fingers crossed they can move on next year and have better times. @Quirk @Burg - cheers lads hopefully see you around, though Fulham may be looking upwards.
It will be more interesting to see what unfolds over the next month or so. Its going to be very turbulent thats for sure.
Sad times. Keeping a watchful eye on what happens to Mowbray going forward - have worries over that one.
Commiserations to you guys - the owners deserve this but the fans and the town do not. Fantastic effort to run us to the wire and you must all have a grudge to bear against Huddersfield for both throwing their game last week and conspiring to lose to every single one of your relegation rivals in the run in. Good luck in League 1 and hopefully we'll see you back up soon.
Well done Blackburn for going for it, but as fans you must wonder why that amount of effort didn't come a bit earlier than the last game.
Our record against the relegated teams has been appalling this season. Blackburn did the double over us, a point off Wigan and win / loss against Rotherham. Possible play offs if that was sorted out. Hey ho, hence why we were mid table and struggled before Jota and Canos came back in 2017 (honourable mention to Jozefzoon).
To be fair under Mowbray - 15 games, we were in the top half of the league on form (sure it was 9th or something), it was the Coyle era that caused the problems, that and a lot of draws in the last 15 despite that form. Glad we went down fighting rather than with a wimper.
Quite frankly, devastated. Expected it for most of the season but nothing really prepares you for it. 6 and a half years and they've managed to let the club crumble from being an established Premier League club to one about to spend only it's 5th or 6th season in the third tier in the best part of 130 years of league history, all whilst loading an eye watering amount in loans on the club. Can only look to Bolton as an inspiration now as they were also in a right mess when they went down but I can only see Venky's being the death of this club.
