Should have just offered the Stuttgart guy whatever he wanted and a blank cheque tbh. That's the only chance you have of toppling Leverkusen outside of somehow getting Klopp.
Klopp and Bayern will never happen, neither side wants it. I honestly think Leverkusen will fall away a bit next season, I'm more worried about Vfb and Dortmund,
The "Stuttgart guy" is Sebastian Hoeneß, Sohn of former VfB and Bayern Striker Dieter Hoeneß and nephew of Bayern's "grey eminence" Uli Hoeneß. He was on the list of possible Bayern candidates but as soon as he heard about it he extended his contract at VfB Stuttgart edit: btw, he coached Bayern II in 2019/2020 and Bayern's U19 the year before and is born in Munich.
Do you think you’ll finally get promotion next season Dirk? I’d like to think you’re stronger than Darmstadt at least who have been pretty poor in the 1. Bundesliga.
Of course I do like the 6 times before (HSV finally sacked Sporting Director Jonas Boldt and installed former Germany Striker and Coach of the U21 team that won 2 Euros, Stefan Kuntz (with a K and a Z ) Yeah, Darmstadt was pretty poor but Heidenheim is a breath of fresh air. They even have a little chance to qualify for Europe if Dortmund wins the CL (easy peasy ) btw: Remember that HSV was last season in the last match for a few minutes already promoted to 1.Bundesliga until Heidenheim scored 2 goals in stoppage time to overcome a 1-2 against already relegated Regensburg and won 3-2 (and even jumped to #1 spot ahead of Darmstadt and sent down HSV to the relegation playoff spot where we had no chance against VfB Stuttgart (what they're capable of we have seen this season when they got Vice Champion of the Bundesliga))
How unlucky is Harry Kane ? Moves to a very dominant Bayern Munich, who then go on to have their first trophy-less season in years and then they go and hire Vincent Kompany It may well turn out well. But I would question what the dressing room will be like if a few things don’t go their way early on in the season. Surely they’ll all be sat there thinking that this is like the 8th choice manager who has just been relegated with Burnley and start to act up
Some nervous looking faces on the Bochum fans & Dusseldorf play in Donny Rovers kit , not sure what the 23-05-2009 flag they are holding up represents & here's hoping for a good game . Not the biggest looking ground capacity wise & from above it looked like a spaceship had landed next to it
They've done an Oxford on Bochum with great shape & classic counter attacking football albeit very lucky with 1st own goal & poor goalkeeping for 3rd goal pushing it out in middle of goal rather than pushing it to the side out of danger & the best player on the pitch Dusseldorf's number 7 , a Norwich City player . Sky Sports Mix not showing 2nd leg but it clashes with England v Spain Under 17's Euro Finals which takes precedent .
23-05-2009 was the day when Fortuna was promoted from 3.Liga to 2.Bundesliga. What do you have against Bochum? They're facing now their 7th relegation. Last time they needed 11 years to come back to 1.Bundesliga. Very deserved win for Fortuna with Tzolis their best man (as he was already the whole season). It was visible why they're unbeaten for now 15 matches and why they could overtake HSV in the final matches of the season. Bochum 2nd goalie Andreas Luthe with bad luck in some situations, mainly the 3rd goal. Tricky situation for him he hadn't enough match practice because over the season Manuel Riemann was the goalie but after the last match and the drop from 14th to 16th something happened and he was out for both matches due to his behaviour and maybe won't even come back. Leon Goretzka (born in Bochum and played for VfL ) was in the stands in an old retro VfL shirt. But it didn't help. Another blow for him in one week time (after not being nominated for the Euro 2024). Anyway, I#m happy for Fortuna and Coach Daniel Thioune. Monday the 2nd leg. Tomorrow the 1st leg of 2.Bundesliga relegation Jahn Regensburg vs Wiesbaden. As usual I'm for the underdog. Ok maybe not the right term because the 3.Liga clubs have the better record in these relegation playoffs as I remarked in one of my last posts.
Friendship with Bayern. Very annoying trivia of an otherwise fine club. Plus I want the minnow to progress for once (not the only one if this thread is anything to go by) and have fond memories of Fortuna. Ground looks like Ikea from the outside but otherwise pretty decent.
He was outperformed by Luton! You shouldn't be able to jump from an emphatic relegation with Burnley to manager of Bayern... Not when the best thing on your CV is promotion with Burnley, and you have no connection to the club, it's mad. Definitely preferable to ETH but most are! Ah well, at least he speaks German eh...
Fantastic to see Fortuna doing the business. Large numbers of them have been coming to watch Town every year for a while now, great support who really add to the vibe at Portman Rd.. Chuffed to see both clubs going up this summer, amazing.
Great to hear. At HSV it's similar with Glasgow Rangers. We have a fan friendship with them since the early 70s. So, we often have Rangers fans visiting the Volkspark as well as HSV fans visiting Ibrox. I like these fan friendships with foreign clubs. As much as it hurts that Fortuna had "overtaken" HSV in the standings in the last weeks and got the #3 spot I want them to be promoted now. It's a likeable club and their action this season "Fortuna für alle (Fortuna for all)" where they offered free entrance for all for 3 matches in the season is brilliant (of course it was sponsored but it's a good idea nonetheless. They want to do it next season, too, regardless of the league they'll be in then) btw: Congrats for promotion to the Premier League.
They've not gone up yet . Bochum are a far better away team than at home & tend to score , an early goal & it could be squeaky bum time & whenever in any league & in any play off semi have you heard of a team blowing a 3 goal lead
I wonder what you're basing this on: Bochum have been the worst away side in the Bundesliga this season (10 pts, equal on points with Union but with a worst GD).
Seven hours of football tomorrow live, all the regional league cup finals live, winners qualify for the DFB Pokal. Hildesheim v Delmenhorst included ! Live on ARD live stream.
In their last 2 home games prior to last night Bochum had failed to score whereas in their last 2 away games they'd scored 5 is how I based my they're better away from home than at home & have a chance of scoring & maybe putting some pressure on Dusseldorf which would be great for the neutral .
