Not a bad outing for Mudryk tonight. Probably his best in a Chelsea shirt. Needs to learn not to switch off when off the ball though. Literally just stands on the spot and ball watches when he’s not involved directly.
This is what Newcastle should've done to this city lineup in the first half. Totally dominant second half from them so far
They will be disappointed now but Villa and Brighton probably won’t be that fussed about going out with the their European commitments to come.
Incredibly pedantic but he made his debut against Villa last season. Came on in the 92nd minute or something.
Not even disappointed. We don’t have the squad for 4 competitions and this is the one every fan would sacrifice. Gave some mins to players who need it. Funny seeing Chelsea celebrate like a cup final though, kind of worth it alone
I’m not disappointed now, tbh. We’re always shit in the League Cup. Quite happy to lose the games. Focus on Europe. If we f*ck that up too then we’ve still got the FA Cup.
Another comeback win. Szobo is just brilliant can't believe we went from Gerrard as number 8 to him it's like a FM regen.
Not pretty but job done I guess. Take that to be honest, heavily rotated side at a tough away ground.
Oh well, probably for the best like I said before kick off. I'm still perfectly happy that we gave some game time to the more fringe players, but if de zerbi did actually want to progress in this cup it's probably a lesson to him that our back up players currently need the influence of more of our core starters. Better for him to make that mistake here rather than in the fa cup or europa
