Yeah that sure was sweet well in Darwin lad. Once again really impressed with Quansah, he's going to save us a right few bob him, very capable 4th/5th choice CB right now, expect him to mature into a real quality one too. Really comfortable on the ball too which is an absolute must for a top centre back these days.
Quansah has looked comfortable every time he has played so far this season, and each time in pretty difficult circumstances. Confident there is a player there. CB can be an unforgiving position to come into as a youngster and so you can tell if they have the mentality to handle it. He's clearly got the technical talent to offer.
Some nice worked goals in a 3-1 win. Surprised at the CB partnership, but nice to see 18 year old Canadian De Fougerolles partner with Bassey and he did well. Good game for Ballo-Toure coming in for Robinson at LB. Fair few changes, but then Ipswich did the same, but it didn't stop it from being a good game. We get Everton away in the next round.
I agree, managing his game time, and getting valuable minutes on the field, I'm sure this is going to save us a good few bob, because there definitely is a player in there. It was a good win considering the conditions, and Nunez, a goal out of nothing really, it's good to see that we are finally getting to see him getting unleashed.
Can't remember the last time we had a player like Nunez. Dude is the definition of chaos. Looking at the teams remaining Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Everton, Fulham, Middlesbrough & Port Vale That's a decent chance for a silverware. Newcastle & West Ham the big contenders apart from us. Fairly certain Newcastle will rest more players than us & West Ham.
Just seen his goal ( Nunez ) bloody hell that was a cracking finish. Can't remember which commentator said " Mark Hateley could not trap a bag of cement " well that was Darwin and then he goes and scores a belter.
Arsenal throwing away trophies going under the radar with United being so shit. Club like Arsenal should be going all out every tournament.
You're telling me, it was wet enough 'under' the stand, but then I had to walk through it for half an hour I don't think I've ever been so soaked in my life! Joke in there somewhere about you lot being dry and comfy in your armchairs First half was more settled weather wise and we still looked a decent match for each other. The second half that got chaotic it was Liverpool's bench that edged it for you and we probably could have seen that coming from the pre match line-ups. When you can bring on Trent A-A, MacAlister and Nunez as a triple sub, that's not bad. For us having Radu do ok in goal is reassuring given our recent issues there, and Alex Scott I'd argue out-shining Endo Elliott and Jones in the midfield area was exciting to see given it's his 3rd appearance. I think he'll be a player.
No reason to rest players as CL games will be done by then. Pathetic from teams crying out for a trophy , look at Arsenal.
The away fans last night were magnificent ,sang their lungs out for the full 90 mins at Bournemouth's yard. Loved the performance of Tsimikas ,arguably one of his best in a red shirt given the horrendous conditions ,as did Quansah who again was practically faultless at the back. What a strike from Nunez though ,I think what I really love about the fella is he never lets his head drop because he knows his quality will always wrestle back the last laugh. Bournemouth fans take note
