If VAR juat came out and explained how they spotted rhe double touch, and made it clear then fair enough. But currently it does look a bit clutching at straws.
Makes so much sense when the refs explain their decisions publicly, like they do in the NFL or some ice hockey and basketball tournaments. Football should get there too, I hope.
The usual suspects in the final it is then, and that VAR decision to overturn the penalty is a disgrace..
Isn't there an inconsistency in the rules here? Alvarez slips whilst taking the penalty, accidentally touches the ball twice and the penalty goes down as a miss, but if Courtois had stepped off the line to make a save he gets a chance to save it again.
Apparently Alvarez has admitted kicking it twice but maybe was just being kind and trying to avoid controversy?
I only wrote that Bayern is strong enough to beat Inter because they are. Doesn't mean that they will do it. Every opponent who reaches the quarterfinals is tough to beat. Inter was often a pain in the arse for Bundesliga clubs, especially in the 70s (e.g Borussia Mönchengladbach). Bayern also lost a CL final against them in 2010. In the Bundesliga we have it since a few weeks that the referee explains the VAR decision publicly, it's actually a test phase, I think, but I also hope it will be the norm in future (at least for the top tier leagues) that the referee explains the decision if the VAR is involved edit: re: Madrid, they're under influence, especially Rüdiger. Such a shitty penalty but it was the decisive because of "Voodoo"
So totally irrelevant to today. All I am saying is do not take the bernebau lightly in any way. Don't fancy yourselves when you've no reference to judge to team and thst place against. You will need at least a 2 goal lead going there to have any hope. You need to deliver at home in the first leg. Real have too many things going for them and they will up the intensity of game to a level arsenal won't have seen so far at all this season (and no psg were not the same team when you got them early) And it's the same for villa. Villa are going away first leg so they cannot make an error. They should have seen what we had to do and pack the middle. Psg have no central striker so once they kill the space and don't make an error they have a chance.
Starting squad costs. Liverpool 487.85 million euro PSG 466.32 million euros. "Unfortunately we had to face one of the richest clubs in the world "
