Dont think he'll be a starter but just like Pritchard and other players, believe DB can get the best version of him out.
Wow thats a shock. One i thought we wouldnt get shut of. Probably the worst midfielder we had at the club and considering how piss poor our midfield still is its saying something. Genuinely cant believe hes got a deal at barnet. Expected him to drop a league, but that said i dont think we ever saw the best of him and his face never really fitted. There must be something there for Hartlepool to rate him but i honestly dont know what
We've made the playoffs two seasons running with a bunch of players dismissed as useless or past it by other teams at this level playing key roles, so I'm not too worried about this. Unlikely he's signed on for more than a year so not worried if it doesn't work out
Most players don’t rip up contracts, usually they’ll get a pay off in difference a new club is willing to pay. A club won’t sign a player for full salary if contracted with another club.
We've signed Jack Maskell from Dunston. Really excited about this one. 19 years old, but a goal machine in last 2 seasons and expected to go on to much higher things. Paid a fee, but glad to see we are investing in younger players with potential resale value.
This gives me hope for tomorrow, as I don't think we could trigger a contract extension under an embargo. So to announce this, the embargo must be close to being lifted. Hopefully this is a sign that the consortiums 3 demands have been met and they will hang in there with us and continue to fund the club until the deal is completed. meaning they will settle the WUP and we can prepare for the coming season, better than we have been able to so far. Shelts is a grafter, Think he did the most KMts in the playoff final and probably the season too. Just keep him away from the "Cotton Buds"
It's funny how the same player can have vastly different experiences at 2 different clubs. Fondop another example. I heard so many bad things about him from pool fans when he signed for us but he has a certain unique quality about him that every squad needs. Scored some worldies too. Id have kept him tbh. Good from the bench.
Looked very raw and physically slight when he was with us in a pretty awful team in 21/22. He must have progressed a lot in the intervening time!
Another one out the door for us - Coby Rowe leaving. Had high expectations when he signed and always gave it his all, but felt like he was always injured or carrying a knock, and far too slow. Think he’ll likely get another gig at this level, or move down to the NLS.
We've signed Sam Fishburn after he got released by Fleetwood Hardly torn up any trees in his career, will hopefully be a good backup
We’ve just signed Corey Whelan on a 2 year deal from Carlisle. I know absolutely nothing about him but in Beech we trust. We’re moving. 14 signed on now
I watch them sometimes and he's a good player. We should've been in for him really if we had a proper recruitment strategy, lots of people told the club about him, but he's capable of stepping up for sure
