Not a transfer but keeper Adam Smith signs an 18 month extension. Happy enough with that, I'd maybe look for better next season but he's more than good enough at this level.
Millington just strongly hinted he almost came to us, but chose to go to a club “he was already familiar with” at the last second.
Tom Parkes signs on for another year but Joe Grey and Mani D are still in talks, believe to have turned down our first offer, hardly a surprise as Singh would want them on minimum wage.
Grey would be the bigger disappointment, doesn't wanna go down the Luke James route of rushing up too soon, Mani has served us well and if he fancies a last proper stab at the EFL I wouldn't begrudge him it honestly. Side note, see that video going round online, one of our players stuck a nut on Mani in training, hard to tell who it was, very grainy, one of Waterfall/Madine/Charman, not good viewing.
x.com Nasty that like, think whoever has done that is just slightly shorter than Mani. All three of them are shorter but looking heights online, next after Mani is Madine. I wouldn't rule out any of the suspects, the three all got a temper on them
Apparently Madine is bottom left wearing shorts so wasn't him which leaves Charman or Waterfall. Wasn't convinced about Madine, nowhere near violent enough for him to get involved. My money is on Waterfall. Either way club have to come out and address this. Interesting who leaked the video like.
These types of things happen all the time on training grounds up and down the country. The problem is the weasel videoing it and sharing it.
Just as we're set to lose a veteran injury prone midfielder, we get another in Corry Evans. Very pleased we've reacted so quickly to get what we need, just hope he stays fit.
Does seem like what we need but theres a thorn niggling that there is no plan beyond this season. Average age of the squad must be well into the 30's and if we dont go up it may well be another rebuild in the summer. Would be nice to have a few young guns with a bit of resale value that other clubs envy. Only one of that ilk at the moment is lundstram
Well you're not wrong, but that's more for summer signings for me, where they can have a preseason etc. I think it's a bit of a Micky Mellon thing as well, I'd like to see more of Uchegbulam, Hammond and Hobson when he's fit where possible, but MM definitely likes his experience. But as well, mid season is all about getting what you need in that moment in time, players that can come in and do a job straight away. And that's all exacerbated when you're hopefully gonna be in a closely fought promotion tussle, and there's only one auto promotion place. You've got to be a bit ruthless and singularly focused in the National League, you'd like to think we'd broaden and stabilise our recruitment if we managed to go up though yeah
