Savage had his own ideas of who he wanted in his side it seems. They also let their player of the season Jamie Robson and Joe Quigley go for free, Quigley has been decent and Robson has been fantastic for us, so there's no accounting for taste! Reckon that's a canny signing for you.
Wealdstone fans what position did grant play most of last season when playing well for you. just mostly to check on a point I thought it was all in midfield and doing well there hence we signed him, a Carlisle fan arguing he was a wasted signing says he played most of last season in defence
He fitted in where ever we needed him to, so mainly in midfield but at the time he wasn’t hugely fit, but also at the back. He’s decent player at this level. He was playing L1 not long ago .
Ok so mainly midfield I was getting told he mostly played centre back. sadly he’s a target at the moment on our transfer strategy as he cannot get into side
Scored some important goals for us (winners at Yeovil and Braintree), but I wasn't bothered that he wasn't kept on in the summer.
See Solihull have appointed Millington as boss. Not sure if there's any moors fans on here but get yourself prepared for the most boring football in the National league. You'll win a few 1-0 aswell though.
Cant be worse than the football we’ve suffered the last 12 months!! Clean sheets would be more than welcome after conceding 4 against a poor Morecombe side, three against an average Woking team and four against Rochdale in the last few weeks. I won’t mention the Aldershot game
We’ve signed George Evans from Millwall on a 28 day loan after Cartwright was stretchered off on Wednesday. Subsequently Cartwright has returned to Hull to recover and his loan has been terminated. Seen that Evans has played 1 game for Sutton in a 2-2 draw against Wealdstone which was also another 28 day loan, so I’m not sure what to expect.
Dale have signed Tyler Smith from Bradford on a free. Had a month on loan with us a few years ago and was decent enough, and gives us yet another option up front (which I'm not sure we need!)
Don't think its been mentioned here yet, but I see Billy waters has joined altrincham on loan until january
You'll get clean sheets plenty of them. You won't score many either though. His defensive solidity comes from sacrificing any attacking intent
This is my first post… so I’ll probably stuff it up. Conn - Clarke loan deal to Carlisle confirmed. Until January initially with options after. UNITED SECURE CONN-CLARKE LOAN DEAL | Carlisle United Football Club
No stone being left unturned by the Carlisle United owners. The message is simple. Promotion or bust. Experienced forum members will know one of my old friends who I used to do Zumba with directs the cameras at that DAZN. He'll be making sure there are 4 or 5 cameras around Brunton Park with clear visibility of Mark Hughes whenever they stream a game there. Scrutiny has never been bigger.
Good luck to him , well out of his depth in League 1 taking 3 or 4 touches too many & running around like a headless chicken , not too sure what he'll learn from a dinosaur like Mark Hughes but , if he does well for Carlisle then it's good news for Posh & more wage cash freed up ,but would love to know what the " with options " are ?
We literally just had hughes say 2 days ago we can have no one in at all until players leave……next minute we have probably lumped guarantees to Peterborough on being able to splash £150-300,000 depending where both met!! makes no sense, I do think we need more danger behind the forward, Linney is now being marked out of games and we need another outlet for the other side to deal with to free Linney some space and Wearne and luamba are not dangerous enough, but I personally feel if we scout properly there is more effective at less money. but since we took on these owners that has been our biggest issue…….never scout, go big bucks
