I was genuinely sad to hear what happened to Darlo and felt for their supporters. Great to see that you are on the way back and long may that recovery continue I hope to welcome you back in the Football League sooner rather than later. KEEP IT POSH
It's ridiculous, when looking at the map of next season's Evo-Stick divisions (which you can see here), only Kendal town and Darlington in the northern division are further north than Scarborough. So out of 44 teams they are the THIRD most northerly, yet they are in the Southern division. That's different for Gloucester, they are the 22nd most northerly team in step 2 so as weird as it is, it is geographically correct that they are in the BSN.
Darlo lost in the play offs to Ramsbottom last night so face another season in NPL First Division. They can consider themselves extremely unlucky after the referee's performance too. Captain Leon Scott had his leg broken by a two-fotted challenge in the first minute but Ramsbottom's player escaped without a red card. Also Stephen Thompson was shown a second yellow card for diving for what seemed like a clear penalty. So back to back promotions won't happen but there is a good chance they could be back in Darlington next season and playing at Blackwell Meadows. We'll see but it'll certainly be good for the club and the town if that's the case.
If the lad has broken his leg it's not nice but can't help but laugh at the self-styled 'man united of non league' not going up so here goes.... At least they might have derbies with Spennymoor next season!
Fair play to darlington on their season. Unlucky in the play offs for them but I'm extremely confident bamber bridge will gain promotion in the play offs on home soil against ramsbottom at the sir tom finney stadium. Good luck brigg.
There's a place called Ramsbottom? Wonder why someone thought it was a good idea to name a town after a sheep's arse...
