With a little one at home and being self-employed I just can't afford a £400+ trip abroad unfortunately.

Theoretically Forest's toughest game (Betis pot 1 - away). Disappointing having led the game for so long but any result away in Europe is a good result.

Damn right. To be a bit disappointed after a draw away at Betis in our first European game for a generation. Shows where we are at.

We played some absolutely fantastic stuff at times tonight. We're building something, I just hope we get that win for Ange as soon as possible.

First half Anderson and Luiz completely run things in midfield and Jesus was a constant threat ,the injury to Luiz left Anderson having to do way too much running and closing down and in the end he ran out of juice. Sangare was good but he flagged quickly into the second half.

As for Betis they had a whole new game plan that second half and their approach play was more thoughtful ,really liked the look of that Riquelme. In the end I think Forest were grateful to hear that whistle because Betis were growing into the game.

1 point is not a bad start for Forest away to a team some are calling favourites ,although I think Roma might have something to say about that. Enjoyed the game though and it's certainly not bad for a first foot back in European football.

Well it’s been an incredible experience. What a city Seville is - dreamland after all our miserable away journeys over the years.

The match itself - shambles from the Spanish police outside the ground - a bizarre overuse of horses as barriers instead of fences or cordons (or just stewards) . Incredibly heavy handed despite no trouble of any description that I saw.

The ground itself was both astounding, and some of the worst facilities I’ve ever come across - one toilet for 3.5k fans was a abysmal, queues of 20-30mins just to have a slash in a nightmarishly hot prison cubicle.

The ground in the stands was incredible, if vertiginous. A surreal experience - and an overwhelming atmosphere form the Betis fans, fair play. Hilarious they play “go west” when they score though.

As to the game - what you’d expect from Ange I’d guess: a soft first goal, then 30 mins of maybe the best football I can ever remember seeing a Forest side play - tore Betis to shreds, it was incredible really. Failed to get the 3rd, and the equaliser felt inevitable as the game wore on and subs/fatigue got to us.

Being held in for 45 mins after the game and frogmarched the hour walk back into town at midnight, with the police randomly battoning anyone who strayed from the path… crazy days. Amazing to get an away point - and if that’s the standard in the Europa we should be fine.

Tanner Tessmann strikes twice for Lyon this week. Was Pochettino watching? (Tessmann’s last USA appearance was in March.)

The police in Seville are terrible, up there with the French police at just treating English fans as hooligans like it's still the 80s. Managed Rangers Europa Final terribly as well, Sevilla's ground is worse (Betis's normal ground wasn't too bad with the police).

Seville is a fabulous city that aside.

Genk should have hammered Rangers, Martin as usual in cloud cuckoo land at the press conference, though I don't think he really believes what he says himself.

Shame his team aren't as defensive on the pitch as he was in his interview

look at it this way, if he didn't say those things and believe in himself then no one will!

surely has to be on his way out soon, no wins in the league and if they're clinging on for prize money from EL don't you have to not lose to get more money than they have already................

Bit of a howler from Schmeichel in the Celtic game. Beaten from range and made a strange attempt to save it.
