Well our relegation season in 2011/12 from the Championship was full of 'exciting' signings but some were just dreadful... Frederic Piquionne - Scored a screamer against Forest and then scored one other time, was extremely lazy and it was plainly obvious he wasn't happy playing for little old Doncaster Rovers. Herita Illunga - Had the odd good game but how that guy got 30 grand a week is beyond me. Pascal Chimbonda - Again, the odd good game but it was easy to see why he cannot find a club even in the football league. Best player though was El Hadji Diouf, despite his bad reputation he was an awesome player for us.
Agree with Keanu Marsh-Brown. The best way I'd sum up KMB is his current situation. Easily got enough ability to do well in L1 (maybe higher) but yet he currently plays in the Conference. Says a lot about how bad his attitude is.
We brought in Stephen Foster, a centre back from Barnsley, in the summer. He has been that bad that he actually asked to be subbed at half time in our 5-0 defeat to Posh at the weekend and now the rumour is he is to have his contract terminated. We have signed some crap these past few years, mainly under Brian Little and John Barnes; Nicky Summerbee Michael Ricketts Kihtson Bain Kevin Grey Steve Wilson Seb Carole Sam Aiston Kevin Cooper Delroy Facey
So bad i even spelt his name wrong. When Barnes signed him he said he would rip this league to shreds and score goals for fun. He made 10 appearances, didn't look like scoring then joined Kettering on loan, made 2 appearances and sent back before his loan had finished.
I think for us he's been signed more as a back up Striker, he certainly livened up our attack against Posh and took his goal very well
I know they were both in the twilight of their careers but the signings of Neil Shipperley and Clyde Wijnhard greatly excited me during our relegation season in 2006/07. Neither scored in a combined total of 20 appearances.
I don't know why I thought he would be any good! I just remember him featuring in one of those 90s sticker albums for Leeds, so automatically assumed he would tear this division apart... how wrong was I
