Ya and it wasn't even close. I should have remembered form usually very little in a cup for some strange reason

Villa also aren't in great form having won just 1 of their last 5 in all competitions.

They've actually been struggling a bit ever since they beat arsenal and man city back to back (at least relative to how well they've done for the rest of the season), winning just 4 of their 11 matches since then. And that's even before considering that 1 of those wins was against Middlesbrough in the last round, and another 2 of them required late winners against 10 men.

That's true. But after a 5 nil win and Chelsea's even worse form lately I thought villa at home would've won this one. Certainly not have lost in that manner anyway. They really need to wake up or that champions league spot could be taken away from them.

You were lucky bastards today. Very quiet in the home end too!

Shame this wasn't a couple years ago with people like Mapperley and Troj on here, would've been great craic like it always was when we were in the same league. Sometimes I miss all you insufferable ****ers, hope you get relegated xoxo

Good performance from Chelsea. Despite their form, Villa is still a tough place to go.

Very surprised to see our away allocation at Anfield selling so well considering we played there every season for the last 10 years, it's midweek and we got 2 games a week the rest of the month. 5500 tickets released and only about 4-500 left.

I see the next FA Cup rights are going to TNT and a FTA broadcaster.

Guess the latter will get less live TV games though .

Got Big Match revisited on & watching Everton v Liverpool 4th round from 1981 on a proper ol' skool pitch & during the break they advertised all the current upcoming games ITV will be showing & all midweek ones , how long have the FA been playing 5th round matches in midweek & not at the traditional weekend ?

Enjoy your day & at a proper ol' skool ground , as for the best cup competition in the world , hmmm , disagree with that , of all the teams left in it it's Maidstone's cup final & big pay day as for the rest , far more important European Cup competitions & domestic League places , promotions & relegations to worry / look forward too & long gone are those Saturday mornings in May with Cup Final Breakfast , Cup Final It's A Knockout , meet the teams & how did they get here & who can forget , that Ronnie Radford goal , everything is diluted these days & why , because the prize moneys pants & that's far more important in the greedy world of top flight football .

We are in Title races and doing well in Europe but always something about the FA cup, whatever other teams fans think is up to them but that 3rd round draw one of biggest days of the season.

With the Europa league starting back up I'd quite like to see some of our recent returnees/back up players get some game time against wolves. Especially in midfield with Gilmour being suspended for the next few games, it will be nice to see how they cope against premier league opposition

    I'd probably go for

    Welbeck
    Enciso - Buonanotte - Fati
    Baleba - Moder
    Estupinan - Igor - Webster - Veltman
    Verbruggen
With mitoma and adingra hopefully available to come on after 60/70 minutes against tired legs

Shame Coventry fans couldn't turn out in numbers tonight to give Maidstone a good payday at least.
