Another 11 months of being FA Cup holders

 

As it stands there'll be no TV coverage of the qualifying rounds - which is a shame. Feels like a massive oversight when TNT are bragging about showing every non-3pm KO in the main rounds.

 

BBC have been showing one match from each qualifying round, but it was only available to view on iPlayer/their website.

 

Past few years one match per round has been on Iplayer.

 

My brother will be playing against Bury on Saturday in the Preliminary Round for Stalybridge Celtic. Both in the same league this year so should be a decent game, I'd imagine it'll be a pretty decent crowd too, pretty much a local derby. Tempted to go and watch that rather than North End tbh.

 

Play each other again week on Monday in league, I'll be working, keep an eye out for him.

 

Obviously hope the player is ok.
With it happening so late in the match you'd expect them to let the scoreline stand rather than replay it surely?

 

The game is going to be replayed which seems a tad ridiculous in the circumstances to me.

2nd Qualifying Round draw was today at 1pm. Chester at home for Stalybridge, should be a good day out.

 

Enfield v Enfield Town jumped out as one of the interesting ties in the round.

 

This is from a 5 minute glance at Wiki so may not be 100% accurate but it looks like they don't share a ground. Enfield Town are a breakaway club from the original Enfield F.C. The original Enfield F.C formed in 1893 but went bust after selling their old stadium and moving to Hertford and we're reformed in 2007 as Enfield 1893 later dropping the 1893 - they play in the Southern League Division One Central. The breakaway Enfield Town formed in 2001 due to discontent among fans about the leadership of the original Enfield F.C and now play in the National League South and actually play in Enfield.

 

Coleshill Town, a club I played for back in the day, are still in the hat..

A good win today for Spalding Utd beating Alfreton 3-0 on their new £1m 4G pitch & new P'boro Sports manager Phil Brown got off to a winning start beating Hornchuch 2-1 .

 

Hereford FC v Sporting Khalsa abandoned due to racist abuse aimed at Sporting's goalkeeper. Unfortunately seems this lot are being emboldened by recent events. The game will be replayed.
