I’m really not being struck by this to be honest. I’ll give it a good go over the course of the Beta, but it’s genuinely not striking me as any kind of improvement over 21.
I think I will wait until PES is released and then decide whether to pick up FIFA after paying that this year. I might change my mind and pre order but I haven't been playing the '21 version much lately.
I thought they were brining out some different game modes as Esports Wining XI or whatever it's called now?
They are, there’s also a third game coming out to try and compete at some point which will be free to purchase.
I hadn't heard about that one. I have just googled it now, and I will give it a try when it comes out. It will be nice to have a third offering.
early access? from the track record, though, hasn't each year felt like that at first? usually full of bugs right out of the gate
EA play users get a 10 hour trial this weekend and a month trial of that is only 79p on PS5 so it seemed worth it. There are certainly glitches; I made a tackle on the edge of my box in one game which picked up speed until it flew out of play for a goal kick to the other team for example, but I just don’t think it plays that well. It might just be because I’m shit, but I honestly think it just feels a bit clunky and boring. I also decided to dip my toe in to Ultimate Team for the first time since FIFA18. I thought since it wasn’t even out yet every team would be equally shit and the first game would be bearable. An utterly moronic thing for me to think as my L2 defence got destroyed by a conveyer belt of players with Pepe-Jesus-Sterling front lines.
EA make the bare minimum in terms of game play changes every year yet somehow the games are always a buggy mess at launch. F*ck that. I'm stealing this as soon as it's on torrent sites, assuming career mode is actually good this time.
They're absolute twats. They do the same with Madden and probably every other game. The big selling point with Madden this year was the overhaul of scouting, and it wasn't even in the game at release. September release, they said. Already it's been pushed back to October... Apparently there was a bug this year where people would win games in Franchise mode, and upon returning to the main screen, it'd be recorded as a defeat Couldn't ****ing make it up. You wonder what they actually do over the course of a year outside of Ultimate Team gimmicks. My experience of FIFA is that they'll make the gameplay slower and tighter, or faster and more open, and basically revert between the two each year to make the game feel somewhat different. Obviously the only real focus is FUT and monetising everything, just as MUT is the only real focus for Madden.
This game is shite tbh. Bored of people standing/passing with the ball in their own half and it being almost impossible to win it from them. I’ve got my team set to push right up the pitch etc. but even that makes no difference as they’re still miles back. Shite
Although the create a club feature is enjoyable, game play is incredibly ridiculous and patches are needed immediately. The AI press when they are down a goal still impossible to play against. (Ultimate difficulty). When League one sides like Duncaster are pressing like peak Barcelona, that's when you know changes are needed. Keeping a clean sheet practically impossible. As mentioned earlier, some of the game play just ridiculous as cited below.
