Just promoted to Elite in Rivals; weirdly I breezed through D1 without much challenge - thought D2 was a lot sweatier, and I actually had time to think and consider my next pass in D1. We’ll see what Elite brings; I’m expecting TOTY Mbappe at least every other game tbf.
I’m in Elite too - I’ve never seen so many OP teams. TOTY Mbappe, Messi, Neymar & icons galore. It’s certainly tough going.
He’s absolutely broken, tbh If he’s in line with the last defender there’s about a 90% chance you’ve scored before he even gets the ball. I’m not the best player but I’ve just checked his record and he’s on 95 goals in 70 games. When you consider the games where either I’ve rage quit or the other team have left at 1-0 when Mbappe didn’t score then that record probably isn’t far off 2 per game.
This is currently on sale on steam and I'm considering getting it, but I haven't played a fifa game in a long time. I hear now the ultimate team thing is the main mode and usually requires spending more money on it. Can regular players tell me is it the main mode? does it cost more money? I will mainly be playing online eventually, get bored playing against AI and don't have friends! also Prime is giving free copies of Madden NFL 22 so grabbed it, is that the same thing with UT?
As an avid career mode player, I do have to say that the create a club feature has made career more enjoyable that I've remembered for a long time. Keeps you coming back as well. In normal career mode saves, I do something new after the 3rd or 4th season. I am currently in my 8th season in my create a club save.
Haven't bought it since Fifa 18, but FUT will always be the priority, and, yes - it is the same situation for Madden and MUT. They actually implemented a change in the scouting for Madden Franchise mode this year, but if anything it's now actually worse. Whoever designed the menus is a sadist, and they're very slow and clunky, possibly because it's all been laid over the top of obsolete screens used in past games (seriously...). Maybe it runs better on the new consoles or a PC which performs well, but I'd sooner play what I already have in Madden 20. Basketball isn't my sport, but I have to say the NBA2k franchise mode puts the other sports games to shame. It's so much better and deeper, and features the kind of things EA's teams could be adding year after year, but just don't.
I never spend money on FUT but it just means you have to put more time in to playing the game. However, at this stage of the season you can build a good squad without needing many coins, although you will play against teams full of icons/team of the year cards…
what league did you choose? i opted to create my local club, which is currently in its first season in the usl, in the mls. mostly utilizing the youth academy and older european league players. picked up elneny as a free agent in my most recent window and have a youth academy winger currently rated at 86 ovr.
Welcome to the Club - EA SPORTS FC™ is the Future of Interactive Football I think this is EA letting the world know they aren't paying for the FIFA name anymore. Hopefully that money can go into better servers
FIFA have said they're planning to develop another game with the FIFA brand, so hopefully this results in a bit more competition for the genre.
Got this free on the ps plus the other day. It's been ages since I've played Fifa properly - dabbled with here and there as well as Pro Evo (eFootball). I've never got the hang of tactical defending though. Teams just waltz past my players like they're not there. I can time my tackles but the overall positioning of my players is terrible. I found legacy defending much better for it with the ability to press. Anyone got any tips?
Other than a quite unhelpful "practice makes perfect" I don't have much. Some small tips though: Try not to manually defend with CBs - you will just pull them out of position. When you want to tackle with a CB, wait until the last second before you switch to them and put the tackle in immediately Try to cover passing lanes with your CM/CDM - you will gain back possession much more frequently through interceptions than actual tackles Use 2nd man press - wait until your AI controlled defender closes down the opponent and then switch for the tackle instead of trying to close them down manually. Use your manually controlled player to get into position as a backup or to block a passing lane Aaaand... that's about all I've got! UFL as well
To be fair I get the practice makes perfect part as I'm slowly improving my defensive game just by playing and getting more experienced with it. Though tactical defending does seem much more nuanced than legacy defending, it is frustrating though as I'm having to sit back and contain more than I would like. Thanks for the tips, they definitely will be helpful especially the one where to avoid manually defending as that's what I tend to do. I'll hold back and see if that improves my defensive game further.
I got it free the other day. I feel it’s worth playing for career mode but I’m not touching online as my ultimate team setup will be miles behind everyone else.
Initial thought.. Very smooth. Like it so far. I never use the Analogue Stick but have decided to use it on this. Shooting seems to be a bit lame. Prefer the PES bullets.
