Don't really see the arguments against that not being a red card.

unless the ref has seen Lewis specifically move his foot towards the players face then I can’t see how it is a red. Lewis won the ball and they both had forward momentum. It wasn’t a dangerous tackle, and he cleanly won the ball

The one thing I've taken from the few games & bits & bobs of matches I've seen is how wooden the European based fanbases are compared to the South American & others even the Moroccan team who City just been their fans were loud all through the game & not a peep from Cities .

Possibly because there are many south americans etc in situ, it's a long way to come from Europe, mostly just local plastics.

I thought the Premier League was the most watched League in U.S. & haven't Man City got a feeder club over their one of the New York clubs & there's loads of Germans in the U.S. .

He was fine when he won the ball, but catching him in the face with his follow through looked bad in real time. My immediate thought was red card.

Tbf nothing like the amount of hispanics though, there were quite a lot of Bayern fans at the Auckland game.

Al-Hilal looked decent, got the draw with RMA not at their best and the Big Bopper out with an illness.

It seems to me that an underdog’s draw is lucky when they meet the group’s Top Dog first. Catch them before their engine’s well-tuned.

NOTE: But tell that to Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates who gave up 3 to Juve in the first 30 minutes!

commentary team felt it was harsh, however regardless of location of opponent he flailed his arm upwards in a pretty unnatural manner and did catch the Madrid player in the face

can't really argue against it being given, players take precautions against handball by tucking arms behind back so why should he get away with a wild flailing of his arm with no jumping or anything involved and in the direction the opponent might well have been coming from (towards the goal and behind so unlikely to be from his right hand side)

anyway the penalty was pretty feeble, did wonder why Modric didn't take it as I'm sure he was on the pitch.

Club World Cup: More than 400,000 empty seats so far

400,000+ empty seats in the first round of games. The attendances will theoretically go up later in the tournament but FIFA have made a bit of a mess of it really.

Small interest plus high ticket prices and stupid kick off times has really hurt this tournament's hope of success.

for now I can't like this stuff, it seems to me just like an ATM for European teams that just want more money.

I do know a couple of people who have gone, but generally I don't think alot of our fans are out there, not real fans anyway. As has been mentioned before, our success has attracted alot of plastics from America etc and no doubt they'll be there, let's face it they aren't going to create a compelling atmosphere.

Not that the Etihad is the most raucous as it is.
