I guess you're right like I say Neville is a **** so **** him. Maraniakos clearly has a very fragile ego though.
He's a very powerful man in Greece. He has practically ran Greek football for decades from what I can gather and probably holds sway over people over there and is highly unlikely to receive much negative press. This is a whole new world to him since we came to the PL but ultimately he's not someone to hide in the shadows, he wears his heart on his sleeve and is incredibly passionate about football but also about being the best at everything he does. I don't believe for a second that he is driven by money, he is solely driven by success and a desire to be the best! And let's not forget that for all of this negative press he gets, our work in the local community has grown exponentially since he joined the club. He is a firm believer in giving back to the people of Nottingham and not just with good performances and growth on the pitch. I've found myself sat with moist eyes watching videos on the Forest socials of people going through unimaginable things in their life but being given strength and happiness from something Forest have done - whether it be players visiting hospitals or kids and adults alike being taken for special days out at the City Ground! He's also been filmed many times waiting in the tunnel to hug every single player after some of the toughest battles we have had this season. He calls it a family and he genuinely means it! I can tell you now, I would prefer our owner over any other owner in the PL currently and I can assure you all that he will never ever make staff members pay for tickets to big games or stop them from eating whilst they work at the club.
Don't need to be world's best lipreading/body language expert to know it wasn't a pleasant exchange . Just to be clear while I think banning Neville is petty I don't have an issue with it gave me a chuckle.....
It's not about your club though is it, it's about an emotional drug lord getting his fragile ego hurt and lashing out. Quite funny antics though. Neville was even banging on about the running on the pitch incident when he was commentating on a later game, like give it a rest man. He did go overboard on it. Anyway, forget this sidewhow, good luck in the main event.
If Neville had made claims that Abramovich was a criminal with links to Putin on TV I wouldn't expect Chelsea to exactly welcome him to Stamford Bridge with open arms. Ditto if he went big critiquing the Saudi regime at Newcastle.
Really looking forward to this match. I think the last time we saw a CL qualification ding dong between two sides on the last day like this was Chelsea/Liverpool in 2003. That was a bit of a sliding doors moment back then because if Chelsea didn't make the CL that year, do they get bought by Abramovich a few weeks later? Who knows! Tomorrow, it feels like another one for them. The billion pound outlay surely has to start biting them back at some point and facing a 3rd successive season outside of the premier European competition has to be damaging. Do they have any more assets to sell to themselves? As for Forest, my advice would be to relax. Chelsea are tailor made for them and keep it tight and let them over commit because they will the longer it stays 0-0.
Definitely the game of the day. Gonna need 2 screens on. Look, I have no desire to get in the way of you running some lovely free PR for Marinakis mate, wow, he should pay you for this... Good stuff. He's basically Robin Hood isn't he, giving back to the people of Nottingham.
Yeah regardless it's still a great season for Forest. You'll keep most of your players for next season as well.
That's a long winded way to say "no, I do not have any proof!" It's not PR for him, I am just working with facts. People want to focus solely on this negative view of him but will happily ignore all of the great things he does, with taking Forest back to Europe (as he promised) being the best of the lot
Absolutely. I think today is a lot easier knowing a) we have some sort of European football secured and b) the expectation is finally off us. It will be a day of celebration regardless of what comes today
Never looked like we were going to score today. Bit of a shame as other results are currently going in our favour but it is what it is
Today just reflected where we have been since Bournemouth spanked us. Prone to giving away shit goals and struggling to create too much at the other end (apart from that weird Brighton game). I tried to tell the Forest twitterati to lower their expectations months ago otherwise the meltdowns would be off the scale. Well, they didn't listen and the meltdowns are off the scale! I think we are going to need to reset expectations for next season as well - it would be very dangerous for us to be expecting a repeat of this season but we can live in hope for another great summer window and being able to compete around the top 10 again next season! Overall though, what a ride this season has been. My hope at the start of the season was for us to not touch the relegation battle and safe to say we achieved that. No matter how bad the end has been, it doesn't take away from the fact that this season has been a massive success
I don't care about today's outcome (my youngest did, and I get it) cos I knew we'd already created something completely unfathomable this season. I thought I was privileged to see us play in Europe when I was a kid. I was. We may have lifted some silverware along the way as well Now my sons will see us battle in Europe too and knowing that, I will sleep well in my bed tonight.
A lot of people are saying Forest bottled it but you were overachieving, and you've still overacheived on expectations with Conference League football. You're better off in that, it's not the most prestigious trophy around, but you're capable of winning it. Obviously financially it's a blow not to finish top 5, no sugar coating that, but you've had your best league finish in many many years.
