I know Red Bull the racing team is based in the UK, but the company is Austrian so he may have been fired by the parent company.
I wonder if the fact that story doesn't seem to have spread, at least not to the UK, suggests it doesn't stack up yet. Either way, it's interesting that the possibility is being reported, seemingly seriously. Christian Horner: Former Red Bull team principal says sacking came as a 'shock' in tearful farewell speech Horner's claim in this video about remaining employed by Red Bull is interesting too.
Gardening leave.....If you remember? Newey was given same after he decided to leave....slightly different circumstances but from what it says, he won't be working on anything, just getting paid till later in year, probably till after end of season so he can't pass on stuff to a rival that may employ him?
Austria is still the eu and employment law is clear. I'm sure they just told him thanks and off you pop now, here's your cash like your contrwct says. They don't need to tell him verstappen and his dad want you gone to stay. They don't need to say you are an office pest round the ladies.
McLaren v Max at Spa then ? Haas look good and Sainz having a decent session . Rain due Sunday to spice things up ..
Shocker from Lewis The set up changes not quite worked as hoped for Red Bull I know the points don’t quite stack up for him, but Bortoleto is quietly doing a very good job against Hulkenberg. Hulk has always been a very good qualifier and Bortoleto is slightly edging him now
Bucketing down for the F3 race (albeit they have not gone racing). 4 cars have gone off behind the safety car.
Just put full wets on for **** sake!!! Then do 5 laps behind the safety car to clear a bit of water, standing start when it’s raceable
this is getting ridiculous, dry weather only sport now really, second year in a row Belgium has been like this, if the spray is so bad mandate a change in design so the spray is blocked by the body of the car, all it needs is some sort of wheel arch They'll be a red flag when the next shower hits too
The only race that has happened so far today is the F2 Feature Race and the top two from that have both been given post-race disqualifications
Why have wet weather tyres if they don't race in the wet? I can understand them not starting if it's pissing down, but it isn't.
Because the drivers can't see through the spray. Even Norris on pole couldn't see behind the safety car. It's massively frustrating for drivers and fans alike, they want to drive and we want to see them. There's a growing narrative that they can't or won't drive in the wet, or the tyres are no good, or the ground effect cars can't handle it etc etc, but the spray is 99% of the problem and the safety men don't want a repeat of the horrific crashes we've had in the past. Is the sport getting too safe? That's a matter of opinion of course.
Of course, but if there's water on the track you'll get spray, it's always been that way and always will be.
Right, but you said you didn't know why they couldn't start if it wasn't raining. It's because they couldn't see.
