The 2nd phase is definitely harder but she does less waterfowls in my experience Freeze pot her dude. It’s the only way I know to stop waterfowl in its tracks. The difficulty is you have to have it ready to throw as soon as the attack animation starts, so it means swapping that and your health gourds mid fight, which can be fatal! It’s not the optimal way to beat her by any stretch, but it’s the most reliable way I can do it I think your best bet is getting some ‘waterfowl avoidance’ tips from @RedDevilsShinja, or checking out a YT video to get the dodge roll timing down. However, I’ve actually done that and still can’t figure it out
I’ve too Damn stubborn to give up dude. I’ve beaten the game and dlc 3 times, got the platinum achievement but I feel this game has beaten me. I’m not having it! i was only using sloth on the double boss fights, hardly using LW and only using weakness/devigorate against some bosses. Everything red and a boss is getting debuffed, slowed down and LW’ed going forward! I’m at least getting to way of the Nioh before I move on.
Good luck dude, could be worth looking at your build again a bit if you're still struggling hard. @Machida If you can figure out avoiding the first flurry consistently then waterfowl shouldn't be too much of a problem as even if you mess up the next few a lil bit you should have enough health to survive. Getting tapped on the first lot was usually GG for me
Definitely. Probably start it in a week or 2. Need a bit of a break especially since Shadow of the Erdtree is supposed to be brutal.
well done dude, some of the end game bosses and areas are the hardest fromsofts has done imo. It is an achievement getting to the end of this game. DLC next? If you want more of the same but a different game, DS3 would be a really good choice. Plays very similar to ER QUOTE="Machida, post: 10113292, member: 16986"]Definitely. Probably start it in a week or 2. Need a bit of a break especially since Shadow of the Erdtree is supposed to be brutal.[/QUOTE] they’ve nerfed the main boss because he was supposed to be too hard. They did the same to radahn after they initially released ER. Apparently ‘release day radahn’ is the true hardest fromsoft boss
After 500 hours and a couple of hundred floors deep in the abyss I’m finished playing Nioh. Fantastic game, now on to Nioh 2
Nice man, hopefully you enjoy Nioh 2 as much as 1, you're probably going to time things perfectly to finish Nioh 2 just in time for MH:Wilds to be released
its Nioh but slightly better in almost every way. 1 of the best games I’ve ever played! I had to play it straight after as I didn’t want to waste all that muscle memory I’ve just got to the 4th region and haven’t hit any roadblocks yet. That was not the case for 2-3 early bosses in no 1, especially the paralysing bat lady. really like the burst counters and yokai shift. It’s adds massively to the combat and isn’t OP like Living Weapon. oh and the switch glaive is the tits! Can chain massive combos, it wrecks everything and never seem to runout of ki? It appears to be the games ‘easy mode’.
Yeh man it's so good. This is probs because you've gotten used to the combat, noobs really struggled on the snake and owl fights early on. And Yokai skills, Ippon's skill is so ****ing good if you've yet to use it, it crushes enemy ki, whilst you're in the animation you recover ki and you can use them to animation cancel (some of the ninjutsu is silly broken with animation cancels btw, the feathers melt enemies after you've broken their ki). The flame wheel is really good too. Yeh switch glaive is great, I really love split staff and Tonfa's from the new weapons.
oh I discovered ippon within my first couple of missions. It’s the only soul core I use in every guardian spirit. It is a literal extension of my combos and regularly saves my arse just as I’m running out of ki. Sword and dual swords are a crutch to me as I pretty much only used these in the first game. I’ve been trying out blunt weapons for more ki damage and I love Tonfas, but the stats they scale with don’t match any of my other weapon so I’ve gone with split staff. Still learning it but it is a fun weapon to use. Feels similar to the kusigarama, just better defensively with higher ki damage potential the one thing I’ve found harder in this game is ki management. I have to keep my eye on the bar, and I’ve had to improve my ki pulsing significantly. Other than Sekiro I think this is my favourite souls game, it’s incredible
Yeah man Nioh 2 is so ****ing good, it's sad it low key flopped and we're not going to get a third. I still need to play Wo Long and Rise of the Ronin but they weren't as well received as Nioh2. Have you got the DLC and played through the story yet?
I’m not terribly excited for RotR or Wo Long. You won’t find anyone that thinks either is better than the Nioh games, but the bar has been set so high. I probably will still end up playing Wo Long though done all the missions in NG, just finished the dlc and I’m about half way through NG+ tying up the last half a dozen trophies for the platinum. I’m then gonna play on through to DotN as quick as I can so I can start my build and move to the underworld.
Yeh man, RotR at least supposedly has a better story but I just don't see how they're going to be as good. Nice man it sounds like you've been enjoying it, Nioh 2 has such a high skill ceiling, there's nearly endless improvement imo.
Finally got the platinum achievement for khazan. Definitely one of the hardest soulslikes I’ve played but I never felt frustrated at any point in this game. I’ve not heard any complaints about the combat (other than the difficulty of some bosses) but there is the usual souls like gripe of level design, enemy variety and weirdly lack of overall colour in the game?? Here’s my take on the game; Pros: - Combat - is absolutely peak in this game. The demo does not do it justice and it really opens up after you get a few skill points in the early parts of the game. This isn’t as simplistic as Sekiro , or complex as Nioh, it’s somewhere in the middle and feels like the perfect balance of both - Boss Fights - Best boss fights of any game I’ve played. All relatively-extremely challenging. No gank or cheap fights, all very fair. None of them took me less than half an hour, the end game bosses all took me around 2 hours to beat (final boss took 4 hours). All unique and fantastically designed, this is where the game really shines. You can also re fight any boss after you’ve beaten them just by fast travelling to that bosses bonfire - Quality of life - It’s good to see new souls likes improve on the things that fromsoftware created. Khazan and Lies of P have certainly been taking notice of the gamers gripes. Little things like bonfires outside of boss rooms, so no long and perilous run backs. Lost souls being dropped outside the boss room as opposed to being behind the boss that just one shot you. Being able to respect/re allocate skills at any point in the game, without the need of an incredibly rate item or any penalties. There are loads of QoL improvements in this game - Build potentials - Even though there is only 3 weapon choices you have almost endless build opportunities. There are loads of skills for each weapon class. And depending on what skills you choose to activate can completely alter your play style. Add to that the armour set bonuses, you can mix and match different sets to gain the buffs and bonuses that benefit how you want to play the game - Simplicity of story and side quests - You don’t need to read a guide or collect a bunch of random objects around the world to understand wtf is going on. Or accidentally mess up a side quest because you spoke to someone in the wrong order. This is something I’ve never really liked about fromsoft games, but this fully in khazan it’s all pretty straight forward - Easier difficulty option if you’re stuck on a boss - In the recent patch you can now switch between the 2 mid game if you really can’t get past a boss. Cons: - Level design - it’s a linear game. Basic exploration, can’t really get lost but you may miss an item or 2. I actually think the level design is pretty good but people like to try and compare it to DS1, which it can’t compete with. Level design isn’t that important for me so not an issue - Enemy variety - there are plenty of different enemies/mini bosses but alot of them are reskinned from earlier regions, and reskinned bosses for side quests - Side quests - can feel a bit samey as they are mostly re used areas and re skinned bosses - Only 3 weapon classes - not many options here but as previously stated, each weapon has numerous different build potentials. That being said spear seems a bit better suited for a quick, dodge based gameplay, Greatsword is more geared for parrying/countering and dual wield has a good balance of both. We’re getting a free DLC in may so hopefully another weapon class or 2 - Lack of colour? - some players seem to have an issue with but it’s a souls like in a bleak world. Id expect it to be rather dreary Solid 9/10 game for me and one of the absolute best souls games I’ve ever played. Certainly my favourite for pure combat. This is imo at the standard of a fromsoft game. Hopefully this is the first of many ARPGs based in this universe, it’s an incredible first attempt at this type of game
