Ayew has been a really good buy, I wasn't impressed with the signing but happy to admit I was totally wrong
I know I may be alone in this. But I think we are weaker with Ricardo in and Justin out, Justin bombs forward a lot, and seen none of that from Ricardo, dont know if his legs not good enough for that anymore or something else I dont know, but he has weakened the team in my view, Ricardo is better if you want a slow tempo passing game. Curious who our fans will blame for Ipswich goal, as our two nearest players are both fans favourites Fatawa and Ricardo. The scapegoat wasnt on the pitch. I also think we looked a new team when Ayew came on, Ayew not scared to shoot whenever is a chance, Cooper it feels like he is being affected by the fans, or maybe the ownership of the club has had a word, because he seems to have lost faith with the players he used earlier in the campaign. Soumare also showed great belief and energy as well.
he's only on loan, I suspect we can terminate it, even if we have to pay, it'd be worth it to open another prem loan slot
JJ's confidence is shot, we may be better with his style of right back in the side but he isn't the answer, Ricardo will play how Enzo had him playing but we will have both wingers playing wider as opposed to 1 being narrow
Absolute robbery. Didn’t look like Phillips even made the challenge, the guy kicked through him. Perhaps I’ll change my mind after seeing the replay. Why didn’t our pen get reviewed? Rubbish. We played well, much better today.
I seen all I needed to see in the Forest game where JJ got blamed from a goal born from a Ricardo mistake. In modern football, players need to be involved all over the pitch, I see Faes, Vesty and Kristiansen getting forward, JJ when he plays he bombs forward, Ricardo just anonymous, only time I see him when he is defending his zone. Even then he had no awareness of a player behind him who had a free cross. We cant carry a passenger. I think Ayew needs to be subbed in earlier in games, probably for one of wingers, JJ in for Ricardo, but I dont have much other to think of right now, as I feel overall the players lack quality for this division and spacial awareness, I dont think the team is as good as many LCFC fans do so another controversial post from me, Vesty and Faes is a good partnership, so I am ok with that been put back in place although Vesty was a bit rusty. I rate both Skipp and Winks, so dont have a real preference of either at the moment although Winks has definitely improved since his spell on the sidelines, so dropping him I think woke him up a bit. I also dont think Daka is good enough, we probably need to bring a striker in January to help Vardy or recall Cannon, and hopefully we remain in a competitive position in the table so someone will give us a chance in January.
Phillips made two dirty moves, I wasnt convinced the first was a red, but the commentary thought it should have been red, but both were at least yellows, which is what he got for it. Was surprised by how much you backed off after the red, I think that was your recent collapses playing a mentality part.
Cannon is hardly setting the world alight, I don't think Daka is the answer either but his injury was why we loaned Edouard
Feels like a potential killer moment for Ipswich. They need to get the monkey off their back quickly and this will be one of the targeted games they needed to win if they're going to stay up. To concede and equaliser that late will be heartbreaking and make the psychological strain of still being without a win even more unbearable.
It's definitely a red as a second yellow and arguable his first should have been red anyway. I think if the ref hadn't have already given him yellow on that first challenge VAR gets involved and he's off. On the pen VAR didn't think it was a clear and obvious one. Tbh I thought it was going to be given and then Phillips probably has the second yellow rescinded. Or maybe not but you're defending a 2 goal lead with 10 men. In the long run, this may benefit you, cos we keep Cooper.
**** this game, **** this league. Didn't look like Phillips was anywhere near the player who went down for the second yellow from behind the goal but have been told by someone watching abroad that he clattered him so can't really have any excuses for that but McKenna has to be bringing him off for Cajuste when he is ready just before the free kick is taken. We won't be winning a game anytime soon. Spurs, Man Utd and Forest up next then three massive games at the start of December, Palace, Bournemouth and Wolves. Maybe one of those will be the lucky day
I agree with most of that and I believe McKenna made a mistake not taking Phillips off. A lot of early second half fouls given away by him so the second yellow was fair. BUT if the ref gave a penalty, no foul by Phillips shortly after AND VAR didn’t even look at the potential pen for us yet multiple times potential hand balls were looked at for a Leicester penalty. Now we’ve experienced VAR, I think it needs a massive revamp/removal. If you’re going to use it in a game, use it! I’ve said if elsewhere but I think VAR should change to “it’s the refs decision unless a team disagrees”, like Tennis. Each team gets 3 or 4 calls for the ref to review their initial decision and if the ref stands by his decision, they lose a call. Therefore, if a team doesn’t call for a refs review, they’ve missed their chance to get a correct decision when the initial one was wrong/missed. I won’t miss this league if we do go down, it’s a farce as it currently works.
