Knowing him he's had a falling out with someone at the club, any chairman who employs him need their head testing he's a violent bully.
A lot of clubs will take Joey Barton as manager tommorrow. With him you know you have to knuckle down and work hard you won’t get an easy ride which a lot of modern day footballers have. He made fleetwood a nothing club into promotion contenders. Fleetwood have a cracking side down there so fair play to Barton for that. I think a lot of things get overhyped when it is to do with him. For me he hasn’t done a lot wrong. Even the assaults he was provoked first. If somebody threatens you or challenges your authority it is fair game I say. Wish him well in his next job.
Was meant to be last summer but delayed by a year till June 2021 due to COVID-19. Like Mowgs said a fallout with someone at the club or some sort of discipline breach would be the likely outcome.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13645438/joey-barton-fleetwood-town-sacked-ched-evans/ The Cod Army axed Barton after chairman Andy Pilley spent a few days reviewing the background of his fall out with striker Ched Evans. Owner Pilley is in South Africa but has been looking into the Evans affair and is a known fan of the striker. Barton revealed he was letting Evans go after alleged disciplinary breaches, but Pilley was then left to clear up the mess - with Preston keen to sign him. Pilley has backed Barton in controversies in the past, but this has been the final episode.
Preston in talks with striker Evans Ched Evans registration is still held by Fleetwood, looks like he could be reinstated, surely player power we are seeing?
Dunno....hope he gets a fair trial...he will get time then. So you saying Stendel threatened him?.....clueless.....hopefully his next job is cleaning his cell. Inside Joey Barton's Fleetwood sacking as Ched Evans bust-up proved final straw (msn.com) Best thing Evans has ever done ...credit there, would pay to see somebody give Barton the thrashing he deserves...just a matter of time.
Marc Pugh a 3rd player for us to have the virus - Southampton game in danger of being called off but I think it’ll be replayed if so but no idea when?
What's exactly going on with Wigan? The administrators said in August that if the club wasn't sold by August 31st they'd fold, yet here we are in January, not sold and now the group who wanted to buy have halved the offer, effectively ending the deal. Who is funding them? How are they paying staff and players?
It appears that the consortium that have pulled out had to put a non refundable deposit of £300k which is then taken off the final asking price, just to enter serious negotiations. They lost out on this by pulling out on the deal now it’s being used to pay the players and staff so hasn’t been a complete waste of time. No doubt another consortium will come along and the same process will happen again .
