To replace Lowe, we've got Danny Johnson who can score but not run, and Josh Gordon who can run but not score! It'll be interesting to see who gets picked to start on Saturday. Personally, I think it's more important to replace the running than the goals - we've had plenty of other goalscorers, so if we keep playing the same way, those chances should still crop up. Rumour has it that we're after Freddie Draper from Lincoln, after his successful loan spell last year.
How did Lowe play for you then? What were his strengths and how did you use him? I think you look well set to continue doing well without him. You don't get as far clear as you are without being an all round good team and while you'll obviously miss someone as prolific as Lowe has been, I imagine you'll be fine to at least hold onto the top 3 this season. If not continue on and win the title.
Walsall have been playing without the ball for the majority of games. Our whole team are very quick to close down the opposition, and Lowe has played a full part in that. Most of his goals have come from inside the area, so I think he's been good at finding a bit of space and taking the shot quickly.
First signing of the window announced unexpectedly early today instead of the usual evening of deadline day strategy. Darragh Burns is a Mariner! - Grimsby Town Football Club Unusually long contract by our standards but it's been clear we've needed more, and ideally pacier, options in those areas for a while.
Romoney Crichlow gone to Bradford undisclosed ( peanuts ) 6 months with a 12 month option . Good move for all , didn't work out at Posh for him left of a 3 or LCB in a 4 , too slow & error prone but then again , all of our defenders are , good luck to him , I'm sure more details will be spoken about transfer on Hard Truth Podcast with MacAnthony & Ideson upcoming this week .
Delighted we've got him back and he was one of the stand out performers on debut Tuesday night. Hopefully we draw you in the Semi's of the Trophy and he notches a last minute winner to send us to Wembley.
Suspect we're looking for a keeper, rumour is Bass is out for the season and Slocombe is years last his best as cover.
Ethan Robson joins Gateshead on loan till the end of the season. Another summer signing that has been a disaster. Reportedly on decent money as well. Bet he wishes he’d taken that move to Crewe in the summer.
He's one who may as well get his contract paid off in the summer or sold if we're lucky. An absolute waste of time it was signing him and just another wage stealer. Oh and of course it would be Gateshead he goes on loan to the only club we do any business with now.
why would we pay his contract up when there are takers for him? If we can’t transfer him permanently then just loan him out again if need be. At least then some of his salary is covered instead of paying him in full.
I can't remember exact figures but we had everything agreed and you came in and doubled the money we'd offered. Then Max Sanders (who was our actual first choice in that position) became available and we got him instead. Not that he's been superb, but looks like a better signing than Robson...
We’re signing an American ‘keeper called Tyler Miller to cover for Bass’s injury, just waiting for international clearance. Got a decent pedigree to be fair, played a lot of MLS games. Not sure if he’ll start or not, Slocombe hasn’t done anything wrong since coming in.
I guess that means Bass is done for the season (unless I’ve missed that being confirmed), which is annoying.
Yeah think it must be. Slighty interesting is that Jatta now doesn't count towards the 2 "ESC" spots, which opens up some options in the summer assuming this keeper doesn't stay past then. Might also make him marginally more appealing to L1 sides looking for a striker if we're looking to sell.
because there is more wrong at Carlisle than people wa t to look into at moment and constant calls for another clear out in the summer are going to lead to more decline we need to be finding out why someone like robson maybe not a fantastic player but solid enough is frankly not even able to get near this atrocious squad of ours and what mistakes our man management of our players is doing to their performances. at present the calls are they are all sh*t and get rid but a few should at least be looking semi decent and it’s worrying every single one whether crap average or decent is badly underperforming
Reads like it’s just the number of games played in England, so seems like after about a season’s worth they become just normally eligible players. Maybe his international call up might contribute something to it? Good news for clubs like us and Grimsby who are using weird markets if they do become eligible after a while, can get a bit of a conveyor belt going. We’re likely to sell Jatta I think anyway and the new goaltender is only going to be short term so would’ve had a slot open up anyway, but it’s working well for us so good to keep having the option.
