Where have you heard/seen this btw?
I’ve just gone and had a look for this rumour and can’t see anything anywhere other than someone just posting on your forum that Chesterfield fans have said you’re in for him… but I’ve not seen any Chesterfield fans saying that, other than @bendyspire suggesting you might be one of the sides interested a few weeks ago as he said above. Unless I’ve missed something somewhere else?

He was outstanding for us. One of my favourite all time Cheltenham players. In our 20/21 League winning season people talked about Ben Tozer's long throws, what people forget is that without Boyle winning the initial headers, those throw ins would have been useless.

League 1 was the highest he was ever going to play though because he was limited as a footballer. I couldn't believe it when he went to Huddersfield in the Championship. If he's still got the legs, then he'll be an excellent signing.

At the risk of making myself look very daft, him, Hemming and Stirk are done and there’s 2/3 not far behind.

One bit I don’t know about is why the announcements haven’t been done unless we’re trying to get clearance to announce Markanday with a video of him abseiling down the crooked spire or something

Yeah I guess that is when players without clubs start putting pressure on their agents and demands come down a bit.

Norburn signed, like the fact it’s just a one year deal - getting a player of that calibre and experience without dishing out a long term deal is a good bit of business (negative spin is that maybe he didn’t have much interest but I’m choosing to believe he just believes in the project and vision and has always dreamt of playing for Notts)

felt we really needed to sign a proper central midfielder as a priority - not sure a season long loan for a 20 year old and a one year deal for a 32/33 year old gives us comfort so hopefully they’re seen as upgrades on Hinchy, Edwards and Robertson as opposed to nailed on starters/key players

To be honest I heard a week or so ago from a guy whose mate works at the club.
As I said previously I reckon it is just wishful thinking/utter bollocks

I like the look of his CV and as mentioned we need more experience more 30 somethings. Not too many obviously but if he stays relatively fit I'm happy especially as it appears too soon for young Hinchy, Edwards ceiling doesn't look high at all, and Robertson is talented and inconsistent at best, and in the treatment room most of the time at worst

    Definitely a position we needed.

Norburn looks the kind of player we'll need for the season if we want to beef up our midfield, which we clearly need to do.
A bit concerning that we've signed him injured, we don't need any more unreliable bodies in the squad. Hopefully we've now learned how physical L2 is and are just tweaking the signings to get us to beat top six teams who've bullied us for the last two seasons.
We weren't far off last season, hoping for a real bash at it this.

I think plenty of new signings will be made before 1st July as most, if not all, will be back in pre season training before then.

Grimsby have made new signings but the club for reasons unknown to me,seem reluctant to announce things to the fans. Some club staff think it is some sort of game to keep fans in the dark, waiting to produce some sort of gimmicky childish video ( you can tell I am very old!)

The new left back strongly suggests Hume has moved on as many expect

Afghanistan international Maziar Kouhyar has signed a one-year deal at Meadow Lane!

    Of course we have :goodluck

Walsall, Hereford, York, and Kidderminster now that's what I call pedigree.

Eurgh, I don’t know about this one - I was really hoping we’d be bringing in real quality and not just hitting and hoping for data anomalies the rest of the footballing pyramid have supposedly overlooked

We’ve been looking at him for ages, was first linked about four transfer windows ago. Released by York so it’s a cheap punt on someone ‘the model’ clearly really likes.

A couple of punts followed no doubt by a stellar signing.

Will always be an hero at York got us promoted and helped us stay up.
Loaned out all season because he could not a game under last 2 managers (Ardley & Hinslewood).

I'm very surprised, not because he was bad with us, he wasn't he was great. He did go missing at times but I know York fans said he struggled with the step up to the NL from the NLN.

I'm very interested to see how does but for me Sam Austin was a better player and you got rid of him this summer.

The cynic in me thinks we've signed him as we can postpone games with three internationals on duty. We now have two so perhaps signing another.
Big step up from Kiddy, be amazed if he's a regular bearing in mind we loaned YT player Riley Reynolds out to them, he did pretty well and he's unlikely to be in the first team.

Reynolds couldn’t get in their team to be honest (I think he started well but tailed off).

It’s a completely nonsensical signing for me, I’m always intrigued by the untapped algorithm signing because there are certain players who get put in positions and systems that don’t suit them (Langstaff on the wing for York of course) but him being 27, with no outstanding attributes and having played 60+ games at NL level before being loaned out and released doesn’t feel like a great profile to bet on - even if he proves people wrong and outperforms his reputation he’s what? A bottom half L2 player?

It feels too early in preseason to be making these sort of deals, they’re late window squad fillers - don’t give me a Moniz/Branston squad of 30 gambles hoping 10 pay off.
