We sell out wherever we go. Typically season ticket holders only that manage to get a ticket Edit* just looked and confirmed that our allocation has sold out
Whenever I hear free bus I start to wonder. It's a semi final so it should be sold out if people want to be in the draw for a cup final ticket.
It has been 38 years since a team over turned a first leg home defeat in this competition. That was Arsenal The players have a ten day warm weather training break after this match so I say go hell for leather and blitz Newcastle in that first half an hour. An early goal would surely unsettle that team and crowd.
Huge game in Arsenal's season. If they turn up and turn it around then that can go a long way to showing they can go the distance pushing for the title. It'll also grant this team a chance to put the silverware issue to bed, either against their biggest rivals or against their title rivals. If they don't put a dent into the tie then that background noise will stick with them.
He's said you are going to score 3 or 4 or 5. Not that you'll give it your all. A player that is that sure of himself should be scoring a hat trick
Can you provide a link please because I can't find anything. Edit: Oh I've seen it. Meh I mean to be fair, we've got to score three if we want to go through
Tough ask for Arsenal but anything can happen in cup football. If they score early or find themselves with a man advantage then it's very much game on again. St James' will be bouncing early on and there'll be a great home atmosphere but that home atmosphere can also swing the other way and they'll potentially feel that nervousness and desperation in the stands if things start going against them. The first goal is key, Arsenal need to make sure they're the ones to get it. They aren't coming back from 3-0.
Can't see anything other than Newcastle progressing tonight. They won't sit back and invite pressure, they'll attack and get into Arsenal from the start. The midfield three of Bruno, Tonali and Elbinton will smother Arsenal's midfield and they'll end up going through by at least a goal or two IMO. I just can't see Arsenal coping with the intensity or atmosphere unless Newcastle get too carried away and have a man sent off. Edit: Just seen Joelinton could be out. Big blow for Newcastle if he is.
Newcastle will be desperate to win something this season ,I imagine being this close to a final will ensure Newwcastle produce another top performance. If I'm honest I believe the contest was over at the Emirates and it's a massive task for Arsenal to overturn that result whilst preventing Newcastle from scoring in their own yard. I just don't see it myself ,but hopefully it's a cracking game for the neutral.
Agreed, but hopefully Spurs can pull something out of the bag. Would be nice to have two different teams in the final.
My faint hope is that we had a similar story in 2019 against City and Ajax in the Champions League. I think both backed themselves to finish a job in the second leg and treated the first leg a bit lightly. Liverpool did the same this year and seemed content in that first leg that they'd overturn it at Anfield and my hope is that they'll regret that approach tomorrow night because they were more than capable of beating us home and away. Really hope Newcastle win tonight though. I don't think I can handle having an all North London final. I'd sooner lose to Liverpool tomorrow than lose to that lot at Wembley.
It will happen one day but I don't think it is a day anyone in either fanbase will ever be ready for.
The semi finals over the years have been bad enough. It would potentially complete the set though. We've lost finals to Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United in the last 15 years. Arsenal would make for a clean sweep in the top 6. Yeah. I know he chucked in the young GK for his debut in the first leg but I don't think you can be throwing Danso in to this for his debut. I'd be surprised if it isn't the same back four as the weekend. Edit* Just to add, I think it's plausible that Danso will come off the bench and make his debut but I don't think he starts.
Sounds like we're unchanged from the weekend. We made a bucket load of chances against them in the first leg but I don't think we'll do that tonight. Our record at SJP is poor and they always seem to have our number up there, well at both grounds really. I think Howe has a positive win record against us at Newcastle. An early goal will make it interesting though.
