With the £ you've spent in January & this Summer i'd put you miles ahead of any of the 3 relegated clubs who Luton & Plymouth seem to have lost half of their teams & under new management more players will probably jump the sinking ships & have Cardiff got a manager , I can't remember anymore as they get through so many & will most probably be sold prior to season kicking off .

You guys & Bolton under Schumacher imo are the early favourites , Bolton will probably score 90 & concede 70 , it's the open plan a way in how Schumacher plays .

I would say there’s a good few ahead of us at the minute. Hudds are by far the faves with the fees they’re banding about they’re showing they don’t want to linger in this division & are willing to pay the big wages to bring players down from the league above which we aren’t. We’re having a full overhaul this summer dismantling Evatt’s squad & Schumacher is prioritising bringing in pace/physicality along with bringing in flexible players who can adapt to different shapes. On paper we’ve lost a lot of our goals up top & most of our signings although promising are largely unknowns in this league but Schumacher is proven so all the faith in him.

No one since January as I said in original text has spent £3m on a striker ( Taylor from Luton ) & all those summer Premier League & Championship frees & loans don't come cheap when it comes to wages , reckon you'll be in & around top 3 on wage bill this season , probably Luton & Cardiff will pay more .

How much did you pay for the Lincoln lad or is that a tribunal job?

Taylor more like 1.5 , 3 if he hits targets which is laughable with how he has looked so far, was he good for you? I’m a bit downbeat on us due to how bad we finished last year but you are right big wages.

Be paid £5k for Taylor from Kings Lynn after whilst on loan scored loads for Wroxham Utd in a really low level league , he did well in our Under 21's with Kai Corbett who's since been released by Aldershot Town but barely featured for Posh but when he did you could see he had pace & a good footballing brain on him so when Luton paid an alleged £600k for him it was a no brainer of a sale .

From the outside looking in you've done great business getting rid of deadwood & signing a mixture of players who've played higher & or know this League & imo well in the reckoning enough so as I've backed you & Ipswich to get promoted ( be it automatic or through play offs ) along with both Celtic & Liverpool winning their leagues in a Win Yankee .

Now confirmed on a two year contract.

On paper a bit of a coup and he has a similar play style to that of Charlie Kelmans.

He's had his demons though, so this is likely to be last chance saloon for him to prove himself.

We’ve signed Ayman Benarous on a one year deal. Really highly rated at Bristol City but did his ACL twice, so it suits both parties. Attacking midfielder.

We've sold central midfielder Jordan Brown to Blackpool for around £400k, apparently he wanted to move back North and they've given him a 4 year deal with the option of another year.

Shame to lose him, bit of an unsung hero in the middle of the park.

But to sign him on a free transfer when he was 20 three and a half years ago from Derby and to sell for around £400k is a god bit of business.

Owen Goodman and Jack Whatmough become Town's 7th and 8th signing this season.

Atleast we've addressed the CB issue now with the 4 coming in, much needed depth atleast.

Few old timers on the move who could prove to be astute signings in Barnsley signing McGoldrick from Notts County & an even more astute one with Luton signing Wells from Bristol City , may have a few bob on him top 4 goalscorer market .

I’m relieved we did not sign McGoldrick personally, not saying he won’t be a good signing for Barnsley because he’s definitely still good enough. Just feel like we should move on from the older expensive players, barring Gregory IF his knee is okay.

Three signings for us on the same day. Nahki Wells from Bristol City, Hakeem Odoffin from Rotherham, Nigel Lonwijk from Wolves. Two frees and a loan so hardly splashing the cash. However three good signings at this level.

McGoldrick is still talented, but he is now very injury-prone and can't do a full 90 minutes on a regular occasion. Imo it's not a good signing.

Wells is a fantastic signing though, some of our lot hoped he'd come back but he can still demand championship wages and those parachute payments won't spend themselves.

Lonwijk is not bad, tad soft but decent on the ball with some pace, basically the opposite type of defender to Matty Pearson. Agree above Wells should be a very good signing.

‘very injury prone’ is not fair, he made 36 league appearances last season.

I think in all likelihood he’ll turn out to be a decent signing and will get double figures, I’m still glad we did not risk it tho. No idea where he plays, it’s not in the #10 role unless DKD is sold.

McGoldrick isn’t injury prone, he’s just a 38 year old whose hamstring will go ping if you make him play 90 minutes every game unfortunately (which is why we couldn’t justify keeping him as our highest earner sadly).

He’s still a diamond of a player for any club below the Champ that can afford to pay £5k a week for him though, will win you a few games off the bench at the very least.

Most importantly, just a class player to watch play for your team - he’ll have the odd stinker when he tries to do too much (drop too deep and take everyone on) but he does stuff in games 90% of lower league players would only attempt in training. Look after him (glad he’s not signed for a club I care about).
