He wanted to go closer to the North, to be closer to his family. Huddersfield, ticks that box but with Brum being only 40 mins difference to where his family are he couldn’t turn us down.

He wants to make some history with us and said this more or less in his interview. People can moan all they like but when Birmingham, come knocking it’s not that easy to resist.

We done it with Steve Bruce, poor Simon Jordan, has never forgiven us for it. He considered Palace, a bigger club but unfortunately the general public perception is different. On paper Bolton, are bigger but in 99% of the public would choose us over them every time if in the same division.

He was, fee agreed with Charlton, terms agreed and he was ready to be announced Monday.

...Only for Birmingham to come in and pretty much double his wages and offer a nice sign on, so he left us just as the bic pen was coming out - to be fair, I would aswell even as a Town fan. Can't be turning life changing money around at 31.

As much as I wanted us to get him, and we could have matched the wages, there are other strikers available. Our owner is mega rich and very ambitious, but he's also quite sensible, probably because it's his own money he is putting in - we've made a good start and will be far from done in this window still.

Another winger in at Posh in Cian Hayes 21 year old from Fleetwood on a 3 year deal for the usual undisclosed fee .

He was on loan at Rochdale last season so should know George Nevett who we signed earlier in the window & Abraham Odoh also an ex Dale player who as well as Exeter ,. Colchester & Barnet seem to be a new team our scouts are watching .

We have signed 27 year old striker Daniel Oduh on a free transfer after he chose not to extend his contract at Shrewsbury who are becoming our feeder club now.

Rio Adebisi 23 year old lb / lwb on a 3 year deal from Crewe .

He's out of contract but Under 23 & as their academy player commands an undisclosed fee from us .

Never heard of him but I've never heard of most of them & we do dig out some gems .

He was brilliant against us every time we played Shrewsbury in our time in L1. I think he’ll prove to be a good signing for you.

Another forward on the way. Emil Hannson putting one to paper from Heracles in the Netherlands. We haven’t signed this many strikers since Barry Fry was given a cheque book..

Joseph Hungbo arrives on loan from FC Nurnberg as the 11th signing of the season and joins up with the squad in Scotland.

Former Palace, Watford but failed to progress before having a good spell on loan at Ross County.

Scored 3 times in 14 appearances on loan at Huddersfield in 22-23 helping them stay up that year.

Apparently a very quick winger or wing back we finally have a replacement for Cheo Ogbene, if he is half as good and he'll be useful.

Yes his record doesn't look all that good but Palace and Watford both thought he was worth a gamble so a loan is the best way to see if he can cut it in League 1.

Last time SE was here loans barely ever saw out the full term but hope springs eternal.............

Better than any new signing we could make, not for one minute did I think he’d be staying, an absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer.
