One can hope. Just think they have too much quality up front. Wood and Nugent are always a threat. The 40 year old virgin!
Living in Leicester I can completely understand why the attendance was so low. I went to the shops at about 9.30pm and it was mayhem on the pavements, let alone the roads!
not that funny is it? fair play to all of them for braving the weather and showing there support. despite it being on the box.
Do you honestly consider a Marshall-James-Drinkwater-Knockaert midfield at this level to be poo?! Bleeding hell! I'd hate to think what you think a good midfield at this level looks like. Our midfield may be our weakest point, but that's only because we probably have both the best defence and best strikeforce in the league. Tbh, I think we have the best starting xi in the Championship now we've got Wood and Keane. For me, they were the missing pieces in the jigsaw (well, SSL was, but with him injured he needed replacing). Just hope we can get Keane til the end of the season and don't get any injuries.
Also, just a quick mention to imo our most underrated performer this season: Ritchie De Laet. Was unsure about him at the start of the season, but he's just got better and better as the season has gone on and he's been excellent this season imo.
seriously since his injury people are making Sean St Ledger out to be a world beater, he's solid but was no better then Liam Moore or Zak Whitbread and before you trot out goals conceded averages actually go and look at who they played against, SSL played against some average strike forces before he pulled his hamstring
Leicester deffo on for top 2. It is a poor crowd despite the weather but credit has to go out to the boro fans, to even think of making that journey deserves respect. How many Boro were there?
right then first of all well done to the groundsman for getting the game on,and fairplay to all that went down last night especially the boro fans.as for the game i think we just shaded it hit the woodwork 3 times and nugent had a few chances aswell.he took his goal really well and him and wood played well together yet again, wes morgan was my motm though he was awesome won everything.was a good game to watch and considering the conditions it was a good effort all round.
i think our wide midfielders are fine but we have got to sort out the centre just not strong enough.james did ok last night but rinkwater gave the ball away to much and looked very lazy, think nigel needs to bring in a centre midfielder in this window.
This match summed up what we are. A pleasing on the eye, good footballing side but just not quite good enough to be challenging for automatic promotion in my opinion. Possession wise we're probably the best in this league. Always play out from the back, keep the ball excellently in midfield, but just lack that final cutting edge at times. It doesn't help when Jutkiewicz doesn't start and our only striker on the pitch was playing out left. I haven't read any reports of the formation we played last night but from what I saw, and yes I was one of the 300 Boro daft fans there , we were playing with split strikers and relying on McEachran as a midfield runner - almost playing a false 9 position. Considering I don't think I've ever seen McEachran have a shot I did wonder where the goals would come from. That being said, we played quite well. Leicester just shaded it though given the amount of times they hit the woodwork, and in the end their rock solid defence and a proper clinical striker in Nugent was the difference. Shame we got our typical two-injuries a match though, Rhys Williams having to fill in at right back for Hoyte was a massive blow as he just couldn't impact the match as he would have done otherwise. On paper a potential back four of Hoyte - Bikey - Woodgate - Friend with Rhys Williams playing just in front of them looks as good as anything in this league. Problem is we won't get to see that because at least one or two will always be injured. We need a consistent back four as we are conceding far too often if we are honestly a team that wants to be right up there come the end of the season. Also, Marvin Emnes looks like a man who would rather be playing anywhere but here. He's been absolutely sh!t this year and I just knew he'd miss that penna at the end. I don't ever say this about a Boro player but I think it's time we get rid. All the best for the rest of the season Leicester. I believe that's the first team to do the double over us while Mogga has been in charge. I really fancy you for automatic promotion with Cardiff now.
Cheers Ash. I honestly believe McDonald could be that goalscorer partnered up front with Jutkeiwicz, but Mowbray prefers to play McDonald out left despite him being our top scorer.
