So John ' TopSixItus ' Eustace has left another club in the play off position for a job battling relegation with a squad of top end League 1 cloggers at Derby , bonkers stuff. Hope Blackburn win the play offs & Derby get relegated & then he can give his head a wobble , leave by any means but do it at the end of the season with your stock still being high would have been the common sense approach . Who's at Luton nowadays ? Can't believe there's a possibility of them being back in League 1 next season after giving the Premier a damn good go last season , weird !
Am sure he'll back himself to keep them up. Prob one of our worst games this season to be fair that. By all accounts sounds like trouble may have been brewing for a bit in the background but yes with the window shut and not much time to the end of the season, it's a shame he felt this was the better option. Would love for us to get to the playoffs, would be a massive achievement. Couldn't see us winning them with the top 4 so far ahead and we'd get plastered in the Prem but maybe we'd then get sold.
John Eustace has connnections with Derby, and wanted out, Blackburn loose managers all the time, Eustace knows how big DCFC is, having played for us, as the saying goes. Once A Ram Always A Ram. So pleased we have him on board.
These are the current betting odds. Wouldn't want Gerrard. O'Neil has been suggested in some media quarters. Nothing concrete. Local journo reckons they don't want it to drift but won't rush either. Most likely we get someone out of work. Means compo we got can go towards the running costs...
Interesting one, I just wouldn't want to ruin him with him having been a fan favourite. We tried with Burg and, ok, at a very bonkers time but didn't turn out well. I hear Duff is quite hard line too so may not be what we need at the moment.
Similar managers we had on our list, Gerrard would be a disaster, O'Neil could be a good appointment.
Rumour Carrick is leaving "By Mutual consent" Today and a replacement has been lined up. I don't believe it whatsoever.
Seems an odd sacking/ pushing out of the door. He's just lost his main striker, was allowed to sign several players in Jan, and Boro are only 4pts off 6th with a game in hand.
Steve Copper was suggested .. 3 wins in 15 isn’t a good look and they even lost to us at home but true so tight a win or two and they will be back in 6th.
Wasn't long ago that Carrick was being talked about in media and fanbases for PL jobs. Young manager having a rough patch, he'll probably learn from it? I get that Boro want and expect to be challenging.
Literally only because he used to play regularly for Man United. Too early to call him a fraud, but he has a bit of the Karl Robinsons about him — a lot of hype for a manager who has underperformed so far
Feels a bit harsh on him? Had Middleborough playing some very good football and I don't think he has had a huge budget. I think he has improved players as well. What would class him to be performing? Bad run needs fixing of course, but having this bad run and still being around the play offs show he was doing pretty well before that. Most of the teams around the play offs are due to hit some poor form and drop away.
I’m not full on Carrick out but he needs to change a couple of things and he hasn’t. Jonathan Woodgate(who nearly got us relegated as a manager) and his brother Graeme are the coaches. We could do with freshening that up. Secondly I think it’s well known now he’s very slow at making changes if the game isn’t going our way. Also whilst we’re good going forward we’re wide open at the back at times.
Anything but a “fraud”. He’s a young manager that has had his first side in management playing decent football for a couple of years - like AFCB Nutter said he’s having a rough patch but what young managers don’t? I’d stick with him given they’ve just backed him with new signings in Jan. Assess at the end of the season.
