Honestly amazed. He looked nowhere near it for us. No strength and complete lack of footballing brain. Was amazed that he got another League gig. Looked like a school footballer trying to play men's football.
Hackford today was the Hackford we had, if he didn’t have to think about it he was lethal, today we cock up and don’t deal with it, he doesn’t have time to think about it scores… it was when he’d go through one on one with his pace and mess it up was the problem! He scored some crucial goals for us. Wish the lad well. Surprised he got a L1 gig but develops his composure and strength he could be a decent striker and he is young enough to do that.
Most dropped points from winning positions us too. Could be top of the pops and we've barely put one foot of the other consistently all season. Bolton thumped at Burton. The League One gambler is not a rich man you imagine.
Way too much willy waving on here. Port Vale were all over us and should have won but they didn't. Our first draw this season. I'm only mildly disappointed.
Dominated the first half but created next to nothing.. Don't agree that they should've won . A draw was a fare result.
Its not really a beef or a spat. Im happy to say they were dominant on the ball for 3/4 of game just that they did nothing much with it. Same as most of our games.
Bizarrely on the Vale forum someone is complaining about the size of our pitch. Considering vales is 2 metres wider but 1 meter shorter it's an odd complaint.
It wasn't just about possession though. I've just watched the extended highlights and we had 2 or 3 pretty serviceable chances in the first half, with good blocks preventing certain goals and we hit the bar. I don't think you crossed the halfway line for 30 minutes. Even 2nd half we had much more territory, ball, pressure buy your defence is pretty strong. Still say we were much the better side and any neutral would have said we could and probably should have won. 5 more minutes and I think we win it.
Ive just said you.were dominant for 3/4 of the game. What more do you.want lol. Still.had less.shots on target than us though which tells its own story.
I caught a fair bit of the game, draw about right neither side particularly impressive at all and both goals down to comical defending.
Can't be doing with days and days on this Wimbledon 1 Port Vale 1, lads. I know we want the forum to be busier but not sure this is the right way to go about it.
What do you reckon to our game in the next International break? I know you had two lads off on Internationals yesterday in Hippolyte and Johnson (two lads respected at our place). Any prospect of a third? Doesn't Bugiel usually go and play for Lebanon? Which would give it the P-P. Probably OK at our end. Andresson will be away. Possibly our Finnish defender if he's back fit (we've not even seen him yet). But a third isn't inevitable. Wouldn't mind a Saturday down in the smoke but got a hunch it could go Tuesday night with your International globetrotters. Thoughts?
Yes omar is usually away with lebanon and it was a surprise he wasn't picked. Chance he is picked.but Johnson doesnt make next northern ireland squad. Totally up in air at moment to be honest.
We have a massive portion of dickheads on AVFTT that think we will walk the league every year. We've won one divisional title in our history and haven't won automatic promotion since 1985. I said you'd do ok and it was a good move for both Apter and Carey. Was sorry to lose both but both were good enough to step up a division As for yesterday's game. Whoever comes in had a massive job on their hands. We look lost, unfit and absolutely terrible. Add to that an horrendous injury list with 12 or 13 1st team players out. 2 more limped off yesterday. The irony we've spent a decent wedge to look worse than last season is quite laughable really.
