We were worried about them getting 3rd before the weekend’s games (a few of our fans even went to Maidenhead after such an easy journey the week before). Seem to be the team a lot want to avoid.
We at least looked interested tonight. Intensity was there. Toothless up front but no surprise with Joe Quigley. Need 5 or 6 quality additions in the summer.
Was thinking the same. I’ll certainly be looking at the odds of them coming straight back down next season
Considering Wrexham and Stockport have double our budget and more, I'd be shocked if we can emulate them. But you know that.
Best hope you don't come up then hadn't you boss, or you'll be in for a miserable season. Don't worry, I think you're safe.
They'll be fine. The players have clearly mentally checked out after winning promotion and probably have been out partying and not putting the correct levels of effort in. Very unprofessional and the club should be looking into what's going on and taking disciplinary action if necessary if they find any evidence of things like inappropriate nights out etc. But in terms of next season I think they'll be fine and will probably be one of the stronger teams.
It's going to be an interesting summer that's for sure, recruitment will be vital, but recruitment is probably one of Cookies strongest suits so we'll see. I don't think wholesale changes is good for anyone, or particularly needed, but we need to be a bit ruthless with some of these players.
Maybe quite a few Chesterfield players know they wont be there next season. They do seem to have checked out for the season and have lost more games than Bromley in 3rd Like Wrexham need a better manager than Parkinson now they've spent their way into league 1, do Chesterfield need a better manager than Cook in the long-term
Why’s everyone moaning at Chesterfield, not their problem you’re either too shite to stay up or not good enough for play offs. Just excuses.
No, his record in League Two is incredible. He knows exactly what we need and what it takes to win the league. I'm kinda glad we have chopped and changed and mixed things up a bit, atleast we know now some of the squad players aren't good enough, better to find that out now than 10 games into the season. Winning the league at an absolute canter in Feb, does have it's merits I guess that we have been given that luxury. For those moaning about us clocking out with 10 games to go, make it a bit harder for us when we come back down then
Breaking news Ebbsfleet manager fuming that he's got to bring his team to play midweek away from home in the NATIONAL League. Wanted us to play it half way between us both. I'd of feared for his blood pressure if they had Gateshead away tonight.
