Also don't know if any Oldham fans have noticed - not many trains from Piccadilly and taking much longer
Think so. We were the “home” team against Spennymoor, at the west end of the ground, and had the green man
Well done Southend. Great turn around really the season. I remember you struggling for a while (so to speak) so to make the playoffs and then Wembley is some going. 2 well supported teams so there will be plenty there at Wembley and the lads that post on here for Oldham and Southend seem sound. Good luck
Southend were below us when we played them in Lewis Young’s first game in charge, quite unbelievable really they’re in the play off final and we’re in NLS.
Leigh on sea has the potential to make Southend as an away day (in the early or late season) in what they call the "god-tier". a group of lads in the massive outdoor area of the Peterboat pub on old Leigh cobble streets, beers in hand, unreal spot. Just means a hop back on the train and a walk from westcliff station and of course travelling on the c2c line instead of greater anglia where Prittlewell is the closest station to the ground. It's quite amazing more away fans don't do it yet
it’s an absolute no brainer but looks like we go to the wrong station by going into Southend rather than Westcliff. My lunch this season was calamari and oysters. We have been lucky that when not an evening game, we have had you at the end of the season and the weather has been spot on .
Got absolutely first rate fish and chips from a place in Westcliff when we were at Roots Hall (not that the c2c line was open that weekend...). Only now appreciating the irony that the place was called Oldham's.
I saw the joint statement on twitter from Oldham and Southend's trust. No reason to restrict ticket sales due to Wembley Park closure. There are two other stations nearby. Wake up Brent council and get your thumbs out of your bums and your brains out of neutral.
There have been protestations from both trusts as you say. Also, local journo Chris Phillips started the petition for more tickets, Anna Frith ex MP who did so much good during the sale is applying pressure to the powers that be and Collymore through his links in journalism is highlighting the fiasco too.
The sad thing is that even if they now remove the cap, and let us take up to a full capacity (im not nieve enough to ever think we could sell out), its left a bitter taste in many peoples mouths now who just wont bother. Add to that people have been inconvenienced by not being able to sit together, its ruined what should be a momentus occasion
