Well, through in the cup, but it's come at a cost. Luke Summerfield appears to have had his leg broken by an over the top, studs up challenge by a Buxton player early in the match. Referee decided to only give a yellow and it led to a really fractious game which was always on the edge of boiling over. The player who committed the foul decided not to do his defensive duties in the second half in front of the Harriers fans and kept wandering further upfield, before sprinting off the pitch when he got subbed off.
So to get around the minimum first team rules all we need to do is make really early subs, then get any stragglers left over immediately sent off. Enough sent off and the match is forfeited. Bingo. No injuries. No fatigue. Job done.
We made a sub after 15 mins last night as well as playing garrick who is on none contract terms. On the downside though we also got an injury to hobson. Kinda regretting letting hogan go to you guys now as we now only have will sutton as cover at centre half depending on the extent of hobsons injury. On a side note do we get to count this as 5 wins on the bounce?
Sutton had a good game though, I'm happy with him as cover. 455 at Boundary Park, and that was with £5 entry, £1 for concessions and season ticket holders
Ouch - assuming only half paid the full £5 and the other half paid £1, then that’s about £1300 gate receipts - barely covers the electric bill surely.
More incentive to win and get the win bonus... Watching on NLTV, Stoke kids weren't any good really and our second string won in second gear, but they're struggling in Premier League 2 tbf. Shame about the injury, but shit happens, and it was to get all the squad players a game. Still, it's just a weird competition and have a bad taste
Whenever a NL club draws or loses, the purse money doesn't go to the PL2 club, it gets split with all 72 NL members
This is what i dont get. Surely ifyou win it you get more than take the piss fc who subbed all 4 previous starters after 5 mins and playef 2 keepers up top?
Was wondering how a Maidenhead second string looked so comfortable winning last night, and then noticed that Fulham U21s also fielded a second string! Even PL clubs not taking this seriously
