Very very bad defeat against France, after their first goal I was sure we would have managed to do like in the first game. Anyway our FA has apparently asked Rayan Cherki (italian heritage, he’s from france) to play with our NT lol nothing against him but the fact that we have to search people around the world because we are shit it’s still unbelievable to me.
Worse offside decision ever? Fortunately in this case didn't matter but seen a couple of examples of offside being called incorrectly now. x.com
Cherki played tuesday in the U21 friendly France vs Germany (2-2). He came in the 65th minute (normally he's a regular, I think, for the France U21 team but in this friendly both coaches were testing with other players first) and immediately made an impact for the French team. We were 2-0 ahead and after a France penalty he came in. Played very aggressively (yellow at the end of the match) and France could draw the match finally in stoppage time. Good player from what I've seen. Has already way more than 100 matches for Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1. edit: Just looked it up. 123 matches so far for OL. Not bad at his young age (21)
Worst offside I've ever seen was Vertonghen's goal v Sunderland I think it was. He was a good few yards inside his own half
The draws for the quarter finals plus the playoffs for relegation/ promotion spots is later this morning.
Here's my pick of the top 1 matches in every section of the UNL draw. Main: Netherlands vs Spain. Just want to see that brilliant Spain playing meaningful matches again. A/B: Ukraine vs Belgium. Lots of exciting players on both sides, both deserve to be in the League A. B/C: Armenia vs Georgia. This is pure fire. Big rivalry between the neighbouring countries plus Khvicha. C/D: Gibraltar vs Latvia. That's easy, Latvia's my team. What are your picks?
Yes! But I personally don't care at all about this competition, so it will be almost like a friendly game. I want to play these matches in a WC!
In a WC? Do you mean World Cup or this? (What we call a WC in German) We in Germany didn't care about the Nations League either the previous 3 times. But since Nagelsmann took over the mood has changed and every match is taken seriously now again, not only the 2 big tournaments.
We use the same word, when I read or write WC that's what I think Yes but I mean, even if we win the nations league I would not celebrate it. I'd be happy of course, but I don't care.
