Open invitation to criminals to watch these racks, track which ones have been there for more than 2 hours and take them all.
But hey, now we have more time to arrest people for protesting too often or being offensive on social media. Can't have people using their freedom too much.

I've only been into politics for couple weeks and already regretting it . We'll call out British people for hanging up some union jacks in the streets but turn a blind eye to severe acts of terrorism. Yeah it probably isn't for me.

I'm not sure how involved with arresting protesters the Transport Police are. :hmmm

Just got in the house, I had LBC on in the car, some bloke called Simon rang in and said he was 52 years of age and had voted Conservative all his life because that's what his dad did. He's now decided that since Labour haven't solved all the issues left behind by the Tory government he (Simon) repeatedly voted for he'll be voting for Reform next time, because he likes 'good bloke' Yusuf who seems 'nice'. Yusuf of course is yet another privately educated millionaire like Farage, a proper man of the people type. :dunce:

Ignore me mate I got a bit too emotional. I'd have just really liked Neville to condemn the perpetrator and leave it there instead of weaponising the attack and using it as a political smokescreen to turn the left on the far right. He's knowingly or unknowingly contributing to the division he's whinging about in the video. Obviously we'll never know one way or another and there's a great chance I could be wrong about this but I seriously doubt there's any correlation between the flags and the horrible incident. The world is just full of bad loons and these things are going to happen now and then.

You are the only person making that link. If you listen to Neville, he rants about flags but never puts the blame on flags for the attack, nor does he blame white middle aged men, which is a group Neville belongs to himself. You don't like what he said about the flags, and his opinion that they cause division, which is fair enough, but trying to twist his words, or getting upset because he didn't start by condemning the attacker is weaponizing the incident as well.

El Salvador built a 40k cap prison in less than a year, Labour have been in power for more than a year now, there's no excuse Labour now owns the problem.

Can't make that type of comparison for a while. El Salvador have the type of leader that won't be rising to power in Europe for at least 10 years or so.

I strongly suspect that El Salvador's idea of how to treat prison inmates wouldn't be acceptable in a 'civilised' country.

Renewables overtake coal as world's biggest source of electricity - BBC News

Renewable energy overtook coal as the world's leading source of electricity in the first half of this year - a historic first, according to new data from the global energy think tank Ember.

Electricity demand is growing around the world but the growth in solar and wind was so strong it met 100% of the extra electricity demand, even helping drive a slight decline in coal and gas use.

However, Ember says the headlines mask a mixed global picture.

Developing countries, especially China, led the clean energy charge but richer nations including the US and EU relied more than before on planet-warming fossil fuels for electricity generation.

This divide is likely to get more pronounced, according to a separate report from the International Energy Agency (IEA). It predicts renewables will grow much less strongly than forecast in the US as a result of the policies of President Donald Trump's administration.

Coal, a major contributor to global warming, was still the world's largest individual source of energy generation in 2024, a position it has held for more than 50 years, according to the IEA.

Even though China is still adding to its fleet of coal-fired power stations, it also remains way ahead in clean energy growth, adding more solar and wind capacity than the rest of the world combined. This enabled the growth in renewable generation in China to outpace rising electricity demand and helped reduce its fossil fuel generation by 2%.

India experienced slower electricity demand growth and also added significant new solar and wind capacity, meaning it too cut back on coal and gas.

In contrast, developed nations like the US, and also the EU, saw the opposite trend.

In the US, electricity demand grew faster than clean energy output, increasing reliance on fossil fuels, while in the EU, months of weak wind and hydropower performance led to a rise in coal and gas generation.

And long may that gap increase

they are causing catastrophic climate change , they cause acid rain , they create shit tons of smog that fills our cities and lungs and given the technological advancements since we first extracted them for fuel , should be long gone.

it’s just the White House and our own reform retards can’t see the writing on the wall for them. Fossil fuel companies funding reform in a desperate bid to turn the tide (if you pardon the pun )

and as shown , China has been responsible for the biggest increase in this . I hate to say it because I don’t think it will be good for the world and will lead to more war , but it seems inevitable they will overtake the us as the main superpower.
