I agree really. There are a couple.pf question marks I have over his game, more intensity, aerial dominance & a slight lack of pace related rather than anything, but he's made a few mistakes than most young CBs may well do, and has been unfortunate to be at the scene of the crime as it were in other moments, even when it wasn't his fault. That latter one has clouded some people's views a little more I think, but the promise he showed in 23/24 is still there. Biggest thing is he just won't get the game time here, so adding a buyback in is the next best thing we can do other than a loan which may also not be guaranteed to be useful for him, and the level he'll be at is as good as you can hope for in that sense. He's been knocking on the door for England as well, in squads but no debut, seems to be doing well for the Unders atm, if he can have a good season out there in Germany & in the CL it'll also help his chances of being in the World Cup squad, perhaps even starting considering England's relative depth at CB... As us in this league still seem to have this weird halfway house where we have FFP/PSR but also have to abide by UEFA's new rules & almost half the league's in Europe, it means we're at around £50m in pure profit in PSR terms from our sales so far...
Marcus Rashford keen on linking up with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona In a similar vein, I'm keen on linking up with Margot Robbie.
Brighton linked with a 40m move for Harvey Elliott. Made peace with the fact Slot don't rate him tbf but still think it's a mistake. Also think it's a bit of an odd signing for them they have too many attacking midfielders already don't they?
That's fair enough then, hes not a scouser. It then doesn't matter at all to you if he's been at the club since age 5?
Unless I'm mistaken the objection was your reference to him being a local. Warrington is as close to Manchester as it is Liverpool. This is like calling someone from Watford a Cockney. If you're not a local yourself you were likely unaware of this.
it's you who seems to be oddly annoyed over it ,I was just correcting your assumption he was a local lad and making you aware that people born outside of Liverpool are not Scousers regardless of how long they've lived here.
Warringtons "local" enough, nearest league club to Warrington is Liverpool. Steven Gerrard is not technically from Liverpool, he's from Huyton. In fact most players who are known as say Geordies are from places like Gateshead, etc I'd say he's "local" Being local doesnt mean being a scouser.
I dont mind selling Elliott to be honest as we're stacked in the areas he would play and I still have doubt whether I'd ever have him as a starter for us, always seems better off the bench, but its not fair on him just keeping him as a super sub.
I just stated my opinion. I've now had one seemingly thinking the need to change my mind and now this when I've no desire for an argument I don't like the transfer as I said but don't have to like or dislike anything for it to make any difference to what happens
Try telling that to anyone off the St Johns fella or some scally from Belle Vale ,I'm sure they would argue the toss with you Anyway back to my original point hailing from Warrington does not make you a Scouser or in my opinion local ,but there you go we disagree.
Sorry to be pedantic, but Old Trafford is as close to Warrington as Anfield. This explains why everyone I know from Warrington is a United fan.
I shall refrain from using provocative terms like local lad and stick to "indentured child labour" in future Seriously though its all good. I hope quansah has made a good signing on fee and big wage put of it at least
Lad, Im from Page Moss, which as you know is in...Huyton Gerrard is only from a mile or so from where I grew up. Think Belle Vale is actually Liverpool anyway?
Sad to see Quansah go but it's a great opportunity for him and it's a good deal for us, especially with a buy back option. Good luck to him. Hope he smashes it there.
