One of the things that annoys me about Football is mocking away support numbers. Going to an away game is more often an expensive day out financially and time wise. I’d rather appreciate anyone who travels to an away match at this level, whether it’s 9, 30, 100 or a 1000+ it shows the depth of feeling that anyone would travel to watch a match at the 5th level of English football
This is all absolutely true apart from when Borehamwood visit us when they bring pathetic numbers for a journey that is far shorter for them than it is for most Barnet fans.
Not me, I couldn't be bothered to go to Dagenham this time. Got what I deserved really, missing a nice away day - although was still happy to see it.
That was about 24 hours late Dave, things had moved on. We only have to give 15% of areas open and we'd already given 20%. We'd since opened another area of the ground, so they can have more than the 815 they've already sold. does come across as poor though tbf, as we are going to have a gate in excess of 4k and if we'd only open the West Bank, we'd get more home fans attending, which would have given an even greater revenue. Even though it would have meant the same overheads as a league game, I think the attendance would be around the 5,500 if the West was open and would justify opening the whole stadium.
Anyone that’s been to Boston: What is it like getting to the ground from the town? Easy to get a cab/uber? I know there’s a shuttle. Is it just you turn up and pay at the stop? Is it likely to fill up? Lots heading up by train so don’t want to be caught out.
