City have signed Jurgen Colin from PSV Eindhoven for around £260,000, he's a right back and 24 years old. Dont know much about him but sounds ok! :)

What part of that sounds "OK"? The former club, the price, the fact that he's a right back or he's 24? He's still an unknown! :D

    :p

Never seen or heard of him so can only judge him on his performances. Apparently he was going to Everton last season for a year long loan but it fell through, that's about all I know. If nothing else it's another squad player, something we definitely needed. Still hoping that we get Marney for the right wing.

Brilliant signing for us. Heard nothing but good things about him. The fact that Everton were after him last season and that PSV have slapped a 25% sell on clause on to him just enhances that. Just need to get a decent right winger (hopefully marney) and we'll be looking extremely good for the season ahead!

He'll do a good job for you guys.... he's a player from our youth department and a couple of appearances in our first team (last year he was loaned out to NAC)

It's a shame he didnt make it.. everyone had high excpectations of him but his ego was a bit greater then his footballing abbilities.. thats why he was loaned out to NAC where he didnt have a good season and NAC didnt want to buy him at the end of the season. He can play either right back of in central defence (which has his preference..)

I wish him the best of luck though.... I personally think he is good enough for the first division...

I'm reasonably excited by this (compared to the rest of our summer signings, not that any of them are particularly bad), I've heard some good things about him so I hope he'll live up to my expectations.

Could be a good partner for Shackell then if he plays him in the centre, With Louis-Jean remaining at right back.

Wish we'd get Kenton back. My own opinion is that had he stayed and sorted out his differences with Worthington, he would have been a huge part of our team. Remember one game against Stockport where he was absolutely tragic, didn't see him again for about 6 months but after that he was immense. Come home Darren...

Looks like he snubbed both ipswich and southampton to come here...

Town Wanted Jurgen Colin - Claims Agent
    By Aston - July 22 2005

According to Jurgen Colin’s agent, Ipswich Town tried to sign the Dutch defender from under the noses of Norwich City.

Colin joined Norwich yesterday from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven and Champions League Semi finalists for fee of around £250,000.

The player’s agent Hakim Slimani has said: “Ipswich called me two days ago and they were very interested in Jurgen, they were looking for a new right-back to give Fabian Wilnis competition. Southampton, too, were interested in Jurgen and they contacted PSV about him, But we decided to go to Norwich.

“Why did we decide to come here? Because the gaffer (Nigel Worthington) gave Jurgen a very good feeling, a feeling of confidence, when he spoke to him.

“Plus he is coming to a family club where he could develop himself. And Jurgen wanted to play football - not kick and rush football. That's what Jurgen wants to do - to play football.”
