Superb Jimmy! Every now and again, I still just look back and still can't believe that season happened. 5 years on and that whole season still feels like a dream and I can recall every single one of the 38 games that season and who scored and what happened in them so vividly. I just got so obsessed with football that season and couldn't stop thinking about it. Every game was at the back of my mind and during the run-in I used to feel physical sick for 2-3 days before hand in the run up to them. Like... of all the teams, my team who I followed since I was a kid and who have mostly been a Championship team, just for one whole season, just kept winning and couldn't stop. Could have been Norwich or Reading or Middlesbrough or Birmingham... but no it was Leicester. It's still so surreal to think about. It's hard to put into words really. All I can do is just sit back and laugh and shake my head when I think about it. It's mental. That whole season will live with me forever.
Yep, even Kelechi's 90th minute toe-poke vs Real Madrid in the Champions League final which causes an earthquake will not beat Leo's vs Norwich on a windy February afternoon in 2016.
Loved Leo. Absolute cult hero. One of my favourite ever Leicester players! Stepped up when it mattered. Remember the Swansea game when Vardy was suspended too. Was superb that day and took all the pressure off. Plus his goals helped us stay up in the great escape season too. Really hope Kelechi can continue to emulate scoring all these important goals in our run in this season.
the problem, a great problem, is Barnes, once he's fit we will struggle to have a system, unless he plays on the right Maddison left 4231
Nah, just play everyone in the 4231 as usual, but with Kelechi seamlessly slotting into that right wing role and channeling his inner prime Robben. Christ, imagine if that actually worked!
Yeah it's going to be difficult trying to fit Vardy, Iheanacho, Maddison and Barnes all in the same side, but Brendan usually knows what he's doing so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Shame we haven’t got the chance to experiment with it in a game. Tbf when Perez played RW he didn’t really play as a winger and came inside to support Vardy while Ricardo overlapped to provide the width. Could just let Kelechi have a go doing that, though it’d mean him being more withdrawn from the front than this current system.
