In the Northern Premier, the play-offs don't have a home and away leg. The semi finals is just one leg, 2nd-v-5th and 3rd-v-4th then a final at the ground of the highest placed team. And yes, there's a lot of clubs round these parts, a lot of them seem quite established and well supported too. I've only started going to non-league games in the last couple of seasons, but within 30 minutes we have teams in BSP / BSN/ NPL / NPL Div 1 (as well as the league clubs, obviously). It's great. I'm just trying to cram in as many games as I can before the season ends! It also turns out the small towns round here have great little pubs which makes days out even more appealing.
Right I see..That makes sense. Do you have a link to where I can find the play off dates for various non league divisions. I seem to run a blank past the BSP! Im heading back to Derby on Sunday so Ilkeston's a goer. Carlton's in Nottingham isnt it? So as it is now 3 of the 4 are pretty close to me! Try and get to 2 if not 3 games hopefully! Aye since Ive been up here Ive ticked a load of grounds off round here. Saturdays are just shite when Im not at City. Cant be sitting around all day..Chris Kamara would do my head in. Exhausted all the league clubs anywhere close now and a few non league-ers. Play off games are brilliant though, whatever level! Gonna get to as many as I can over the next few weeks.
Yes mate, Carlton is a suburb of Nottingham (although it's heading out the other way as if you were going to Newark). I've never been to see them despite the fact it's within walking distance of my work. As for all the play-off dates, I don't know any site that compiles them for all divisions, but here's the one for all the Northern Premier League play-offs. http://evostikleague.pitchero.com/fixtures.php - Although Ilkeston do play on the Monday because for some reason they never play on Tuesdays? The 4 teams in the Div 1 south play-offs as it stands are Ilkeston, Carlton, Belper, and Sheffield FC, so they're all pretty close to be fair. (Sheffield FC now play in Derbyshire, in a town called Dronfield next to Chesterfield... I'm off there tomorrow as it happens!) And here's the Conference Prem / North / South http://www.footballconference.co.uk/playoffs.php?Dates Totally agree about Saturdays, if Forest aren't at home and it's not a great away game then 9 times out of 10 I'll find another game to go to. Occasionally a few of us sit in the pub and watch Sky games and/or the 3pm scores come in. But by the time you've been there for a couple of hours, you've spent more than you would going to a non-league game.
Woahhh there, calm down. I'd rather be at a game but occasionally it seems a better idea to do something else. I don't see how it's 'weird' though?
Cheers bud. T'is a bit of a shame Belper cant get 3rd tomorrow to get a home leg. Fancy going there. Looking forward to some play-off games not involving my team. So long as we're safe by Monday I can enjoy some heart attack free football!
It would also seem that Stalybridge have done their annual end of season collapse. They were neck and neck with Hyde up until just after Christmas.
well after last night i bet any team in the play offs would beat us. whats been pissing me off is in our local pub wrexham fans already planning the wembley trip against mansfield WHY.
York secured their play-off spot with a win at Braintree today. Southport conceded late goals to draw so now can't reach fifth, leaving it between us and Kidderminster. Luton - 77 points, +34 goals - Gateshead away, Fleetwood away Kidderminster - 76 points, +22 goals - Mansfield home
I can see Kidderminster dropping points againt Mansfield, meaning 1 point from out 2 games will be enough. Not sure whether i would rather play Wrexham or Mansfield in the play off's to be honest. Mansfield seem to be hitting form at the right time though.
Got a gut feeling for Mansfield but with what i saw of Wrexham it would be shame if they don't make it imo
Luton only need to draw with Heed and thats it for us this year. Just need Hereford and Barnet and come down now.
