Watching those old videos has brought back some memories! Tony Naylor was a bloody good player I remember being jealous of Vale having him when I was a kid. One of Vales best periods in their history combined with our worst ever period and it was a miserable time to be a Stokie for much of the 90s. Used to love the name of John De Wolf playing for Wolves too.

Vale will give it a go but Wolves win I think. I think Pope had one of those one off golden seasons last season and I think he'll struggle this season.

Naylor was so talented. His technique, his intelligence... Christ he was even a good at heading the ball. If he was that bit more gifted physically, he would've been a damn good player in the top league. That goal against Sunderland.. holy shit.

I don't expect Pope will ever repeat last season, but he's so much better now than the player we signed, and I think he'll make a fine contribution. We are only 4 games in and he's playing with an injury. It doesn't help when the local media act as if we're halfway through the season and he hasn't scored yet.

19,052 but we haven't had anything close to that for many years partly due to the fact that be have been run by greedy scum and we have stoke city in the prem. We had 12,496 against Northampton lest home game of last season

Shame that side bit hadn't been done, we would have had that as well.

Good news that its finally being sorted. That stand was built in the 90s wasn't it ?

Ya think it was built in 1997–98, problem has been because of our lower attendances there was no need to spend money to finish if the stand was not filled. Our new owner wants it used and i think it'll make a good family stand.

Think approximately 17,000 is the current capacity, now that half of Lorne Street is not active, and the other half is seated. Though I'm skeptical about even that, to be honest. 12,500 for the Northampton game seemed low considering how rammed it was, even after taking into account the empty seats in the away end. I remember when we played Wolves in the FA Cup when we were promoted in '94, it was 21,999. Terraces. Just the conversion to seating has compromised capacity quite a bit, not that we need it!

The birth of the stand was around 1998, something like that, can't remember exactly. Can't wait for it to be done. The fact that we don't need the capacity is not the issue; it's been a stain on the club for far too long. Whenever we face a club for the first time in a while it's "have you finished that stand yet?" It's one of the first associations people make with the club and that has to end.

For me they can just fit some seats and leave it. At least it'd look finished. We'll never get regular crowds to fill it.

Not sure the family stand should be next to the away end myself but I suppose it's just the convenience of fitting out a currently unused area of the ground.

Once that's complete and they replace the old family stand with new seats or a posh replay scoreboard we'll have a lovely ground.

I would love to see a big score board there too, it would be great.

Our chairman did want to rush it through to get it done by the time we played you, however it wasn't possible in the end unfortunately.

I'm sorry if this post comes across as deluded or full of shit.

Is this the game Jenno is going to rip Wolves to bits and prove he is the best player in the league?
