We don't need anyone up front :shrug

Top class number 6 is all we need. People seem to be underrating our squad, still a top squad with a shitload of talented youngsters coming through. Why people are saying Spurs will finish above us, god only knows...16 points to make up from last season were injuries and stuff badly derailed our season. No way Spurs are finishing above us. Nor Chelsea.

Top 3 will be Us, City and Arsenal again, with a significant gap to 4th place.

Yes. Jota is easily good enough, only issue with him is fitness. Keeps fit all season, I can assure you he hits 20+ league goals. Salah has looked as fresh as a daisy in pre season too, expect him to have another top season, he looks rearing to go. Also think Gapko will flourish under Slot.

I think Liverpool would struggle (relatively speaking) up front if they relied on Gakpo, Darwin and Diaz because they're all erratic as fk, but a fit Jota and Salah you could hang your hat on.

Yeah I'd go with that too.

33% chance conversion from Jota last season. The guy can finish and is efficient. Darwin? 13%....

Darwin is more than goals though. He stretches teams like no other might need a bit of finessing with his finishing but he's invaluable.

I agree, he has more to his game. Just highlighting the difference in quality between the two.

Darwin is excellent at getting into good positions with or without the ball, but his finishing is pish far too often. You find Jota in a good position and he's a far bigger threat.

I maintain that Nunez is a winger that's where he played a lot for Benfica and looks way more dangerous on the left for us. Interested to see what Baldy Arne does with him.

Yeah, the two games Nunez played for Benfica against us season before last, he was on the left wing/left forward, scored in both and absolutely terrorized us at times. He's not and never will be an out-and-out striker.

I suspect it's less underrating your squad and more about people being unsure on slot. Klopp is a massive loss, and I think it's fairly natural that most people would expect a noticeable drop off from you now he's gone (especially if your squad otherwise remains the same)

I still think we have an excellent squad, better than Spurs, etc so why should we "drop off" to the point of falling behind them in particular? Its not like they have the equivilant of Klopp or Pep managing them ;)

Yes, losing Klopp is massive, but we don't know how good (or bad) Slot is of yet? Seems to have an awful lot of respect from people who know him and fellow managers, the players seem to be loving him in training/pre season. I think he'll shock a few people.

In the end this is about quality of players so of people think all those clubs have better players fair enough.

But if they just think a guy can't come into English football and succeed then an awful lot of managers who have done so are being ignored while other examples of people who have come in and been poor are being held up as the only example.

Keeping him fit and not diving and injuring himself is the issue with him though :duke

You realise this is the prediction thread right? Why would not knowing how good or bad slot is be relevant when that's one of the exact things people will be making a guess at for their predictions

Can't say why specifically people are expecting you to finish below spurs as it's not an opinion I share. I was just pointing out that focusing solely on the squad is ignoring a pretty obvious elephant when it comes to how people are making their Liverpool predictions
