Jota out for a month for us not the worst injury to have given we have Nunez and Gakpo too but still frustrating.
What is it? A separated rib? Cracked? Ddi he have the same thing before? I seem to recall something like it.
You could see he was struggling, good chance for Nunez to stake his claim, looked very good when he came on yesterday. Chiesa back yet? Could also see him too doing what Jota does, or throw him wide right and Mo down the middle. I think Slot deffo prefers Gakpo out on the left.
He did put Chiesa on through the middle in one of his cameos so it's likely the other option aside from Nunez, dependent on how ready he is.
One out of two ain't bad. Nothing surprising about Jota being on the wooden table. One of those players who you love when he's fit, but it simply doesn't happen enough and a fresh injury which keeps him out for a time is always around the corner.
If wieffer were slightly less shite we'd be level on points with arsenal right now, and I'd get to spend a week taking the piss out of my arsenal supporting mates. Might never forgive him for depriving me of this opportunity
1-3: City, Liverpool, Arsenal. 4th: Chelsea. Don't think anyone beyond that are going to be consistent enough for a top 4 challenge. Europa and Conference League spots are completely up for grabs.
While I do think the games catch up with them next spring, we can’t rule out Villa at this present moment in time.
Next 2 weeks fairly vital to our title chances imo. We play Newcastle and Chelsea away while City have Bournemouth and Brighton away. All four are tricky fixtures but if Arsenal find themselves further adrift than the current five points, it's hard to see a way back.
I'd say you're already there. Any realistic chance of finishing above City in the last two seasons was based upon a better start than them given their famous "get better as the season progresses" habit. In both the last two campaigns you were above them at this stage. If I were a betting man, I'd lay a wager that Arsenal won't hold top spot in the league at any point this season, never mind after the 38th fixture.
5 is my limit. Outside of that, it looks too hard. Said at the start of the season, we had to ideally be within three of City before the November international break but five at worst. If we can get there, that's City, Villa, Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle away already ticked off.
Liverpool are shit because they lost to Forest they said, Forest sitting in 3rd place now The Slot Machine nudging along nicely
Feel like we can actually run away with it this year the others not looking consistent and bar the Forest blip we have barely put a foot wrong.
I think we will slip away from this thread by Christmas and then make a late surge around Easter time. Encouraging signs but improvement needed and lots of players to come back.
