Presumably you're referring to results and not performances. If the latter you must have missed the first half today and on numerous other days so far this campaign. Fortunately, we have recovered in time. But it's not sustainable to put in a title challenge whilst starting games like we are.
Not particularly arsed if we concede first tbh it's the premier league and every game is tough. Results are more important than conceding the odd goal.
Absolutely they are. But the performance and the result the vast majority of the time go hand in hand. We have been fortunate more than once this season that it hasn't.
The assuring side of it is they aren't really conceding a lot at least. Just 6 goals in 10 now vs 9 last season at this stage. 5 clean sheets vs 3 at the same stage.
Let's hope so, but I'll withhold my judgment until the final straight when the usual 10-15 consecutive wins are pulled out the bag.
Yeah that's fair. I'm feeling very positive about this season though even the tough cup games on paper have been relatively comfortable. I do agree we can play better though some players in particular need to up their game. Konate being out will be a killer but Gomez was great today at CB I thought.
He's not great in the air. good one Vs one, quick and good on the ball though so he's fine with Virgil next to him.
At least we usually score the opener. City are starting games even worse than we did last season, constantly conceding first, which we saw wasn't sustainable. This is not the same City side of recent years, you can't lose the ballon d'or winning reference point for modern DMs, and remain the same team. Real Madrid and Napoli games were disastrous. He played well today though.
You looking good so far under your new manager. I be surprised if Arsenal are near the title this year.
We'd need to buy at least 2 top class players in January for that to happen - Striker and DM - maybe a RB. Or for this current, ageing squad to miraculously remain injury-free when we have games every 3 days for 3 months. Unusually for us, our work in the transfer market over the past 18 months or so has been pretty poor.
Won't lie I half think Pep does it to keep himself interested. See how much he can weaken the squad and still succeed.
