Would have been a perfect 10 if we'd have managed to get Guehi in.

IN for a net spend of -£19m
Lecomte - Montpellier in for Benda
Chukwueze - (loan + option) AC Milan in for Reiss Nelson / Godo
Kevin - Shakhtar Donetsk in for Willian
Kusi-Asare (loan + option) Bayern Munich in for Vinicius
The 3 outfield players have the potential to do well, but they were last minute buys and I suspect not on Silva's original list of players back in May.
But all 3 plus the reserve goalkeeper fill the void of departing players.
Josh King has stepped up to take the place of Andreas Pereira.

Relatively pleased with a defence and midfield that has already shown it can be competitive against two good sides in Everton and Newcastle.

Absolutely ridiculous that we have been left with zero players capable of playing CAM, wingers who are largely unproven at a top flight level, and two strikers in Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha who have spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch over the last couple of seasons.

We really will need those two strikers in particular to show why they have a decent number of England and Germany caps.

8/10, after last seasons buying players for the future we had a window of buying for now. Might have missed out on some positions and have players who are unfamiliar with the league, will see how it turns out

Got good players in. The Guehi fiasco has put a real downer on things for us. Would have been a huge signing for the club. Isak could be huge if we can keep him fit but the transfer saga was beyond tedious

Context of Arsenal doing a lot of good businesss as well without really selling anyone. We have lost top players as well as signed some. 9 for players signed and 7 overall factoring in players lost.

The most serious window Arsenal have ever undertaken. For years and years, Arsenal fans would tell you about this unshakeable feeling that we would always leave ourselves one short. Always.

We’re all walking away from the window feeling we haven’t done that to ourselves this time. We have two genuine options for every position (without leaning into versatility) and have moved to replace or add whatever we didn’t have.

    New, younger midfielder? Check
    Replacement for Jorginho? Check
    Back up keeper? Check
Ruthlessly accepting Tomiyasu can’t be relied upon and replacing him? Check
Finally sorting out a viable reliable back up/competition to Saka? Check
An evolution and new idea for the left wing? Check
A bonafied goalscoring pure 9? Check

Everything that needed to be done this summer has been done. Even let Kiwior go to play more football and replaced him too.

Focusing just on our incomings, it’s a 9.5/10. Why not 10? 10 is perfection and some things knock some marks off. Madueke’s fee the main one, also you already sense we haven’t signed the best striker out of the guys who moved. Well, we definitely haven’t if you consider Isak! But Ekitike looks better so far.

Outgoings, it’s really hard to judge. We paying for the decisions of the past and bad loans. No one wanted to pay a decent fee for Lokonga or Vieira because they’ve both had bad loans. Zinchenko and Nelson are on too high wages. Kiwior left us in a position where Porto could squeeze us a little.

I think this will hopefully be the last summer of pain on this front. I think next year, we could see some big sales because we’ll have players that will have a market.

Ultimately, a string of loans and ~£30m on fees is poor. No escaping that. I’d give our outgoings 4/10.

So all in, I’ll round up and give our overall window a 7/10.

Keith has been backed quite well… we have also made a lot of money £125 million for 2 attackers and pulling Newcastle pants down for Wissa will be a funny watch

I'm somewhere between 4 and 7/10. As you say, we're 1 or 2 players short from it being a good window. But time will tell, a lot rests on DCL which isn't really where we want to be...

    Ins:
Igor Jesus - from Botafogo, reported £10 million fee.
Jair Cunha - from Botafogo, undisclosed fee.
Dan Ndoye - from Bologna, reported £35m fee.
    Angus Gunn - free transfer.
Omari Hutchinson - from Ipswich Town, reported £37.5m fee.
James McAtee - from Manchester City, reported £30m fee.
Arnaud Kalimuendo - from Rennes, reported £26m fee.
Douglas Luiz - loan from Juventus.
Nicolò Savona - from Juventus, reported £13.4m fee.
    John Victor - from Botafogo.
    Cuiabano - from Botafogo.
Dilane Bakwa - from Strasbourg, reported £30m+ fee.
Oleksandr Zinchenko - season-long loan from Arsenal.

    Total spent: Roughly £181.9m.

Has to be a 10/10 window for me. Only losing Elanga, whilst using that money to help fund more signings and depth that we need for Europe. MGW staying, CHO/Aina/Sels all signing new contracts.

Attacking options in Bakwa/McAtee/Hutchinson/Ndoye/Jesus/Kalimuendo provides a real chance to rotate when needed. Luiz in midfield will work once Nuno decides to give him gametime. Zinchenko at LB cover is a great loan for us IMO.

No excuses now for Nuno to get on with it.

7/10. Obviously losing the top quality players is going to hurt. There's also been a clear out of fringe players to try and improve the squad balance and depth. The squad average age is staying young, possibly younger than last season. So the system is very much develop players and sell later.

A healthy net profit is good to a) balance previous years spending and b) help with infrastructure projects the club has ongoing.

    First impressions of new signings:
Petrovic is a really solid keeper.

Truffert looks better and more consistent than season 1 Kerkez and looks like he's been here years. How high can his ceiling go is the question.

Diakite is raw and rough around the edges but he's got the ingredients to be a good CB.

Jimenez has a great CV for a youngster but might be a tough character to man-manage.

Milosavljevic looks a real punt at 18 and not many senior appearances, but who doesn't want a 6' 4 Serbian CB with a massive head?

Ben Gannon-Doak is worryingly lightweight. Some nice turns and touches but it might be a longer road getting him up to speed.

Amine Adli looks like a box of tricks and brings workrate with it. I think end product is going to be erratic. Our Dango replacement.

Junior Kroupi also seems lightweight and so far out of depth as a centre forward. I think he'll need time out on the flanks to get a feel for defenders at this level. Ligue 2 to PL at 19 is a jump.

    8/10

Got a backup 'keeper and LWB in early, which was encouraging, then it all went very quiet until mid August when Eze eventually left. Thankfully we got a good fee and seem to have had a plan in terms of replacing him. Pino and Uche came in very late, but they both look like they could be special. As long as Glasner's here I don't think we'll miss Eze as much as some think (as evidenced on Sunday).

Canvot's gone a bit under the radar in all this, and probably won't be a regular starter for a while as he's still only 19, but if he can fulfil his potential we could have a long-term Guehi replacement already at the club.

Obviously keeping our captain for another year (I don't think he'll go in January unless our season's over) is a massive boost and gives us a genuine shot at another successful campaign. The whole deadline day thing was a mess on both sides, but it's done now and I'm confident he'll give everything for the club between now and May.

Fans will always want more, but I think only losing one of our top players while signing five internationals is a decent window overall, and finally gives us some depth on the bench without overloading the squad.

Just glad all the nonsense is over and we can finally look forward to concentrating on the football!

A 4/10 for me as things stand. That could easily change (up or down) because there are so many unknowns with our new forwards, but overall the squad looks weaker to me on paper than it did last season due to the drop off up front.

The big positive is that we actually have a reasonably sized squad this year, and on paper the only position where we feel short is at FB where we have 3 players covering 2 spots. With Kadioglu able to play on both sides and a few other players able to play FB in a pinch, that should be manageable though if we can avoid significant injuries.

Still on paper, the midfield should be better than last year despite no changes just based on the age profile of our players, and defensively Boscalgi/Copella definitely feel like upgrades over Igor/Cashin. We haven't replaced Lamptey, but given that Kadioglu was only available for half a dozen matches last season we at least aren't shorter on FB numbers in practical terms, and De Cuyper currently looks like he'll be a good replacement for Estupinan.

In reality, the long term injuries to March and Webster mean we also only have 3 wingers leaving us short there, and CB could be an issue as well if either of the new signings take time to settle or can't adapt. That's especially worrisome with Dunk being another year older

Overall though, up front is where my main worries are for now, and the reason for the window being below average at this point imo. We've lost a starting quality player in Pedro along with almost all our decently established back ups, and replaced them with complete unknowns. I'm happy with the starting line up of Mitoma/Welbeck/Rutter/Minteh but behind them we are full of questions:

Gruda - still developing/adjusting to the league. Has shown quality in flashes, but yet to demonstrate that he can do so continuously over the season

March - been out for 2 years now with an injury. No idea if he'll ever really recover, let alone get back to his best

Watson/Tzimas/Kostoulas - all new signings from weaker leagues so who knows how they will cope, especially this season

Howell - I'm desperate for him to succeed as he's a local, but he's only 17 and this is his first season playing any first team football. Can't really be expected to step up this year should anyone get injured

So currently we are one injury to a starting forward away from potentially having to massively downgrade my hopes for this season.

    Innocent question.

Does your owner also own botafogo?

No, but I understand something is in the works for them to become part of his multi-club portfolio.

All of this is completely legal, gives us the opportunity to transfer between clubs and bring in Brazilian talent on the cheap.

Love multi-club ownership me, especially if those involved are considerate enough to do their paperwork on time.
