Palace will be fine. Guehi and even Olise and Eze might have always been great prospects but they've made their reputations at Palace otherwise they'd have gone straight to the big clubs. Do you think they'd have just stayed at their previous clubs thinking they'd already made it and a big club will be along to buy them shortly? Outside of the top 6 Palace are a decent proposition for almost any player not already considerd elite and even if similar sized clubs compete with them for players they'd expect to get their targets most times. Brentford will be too as they will likely be buying players that will consider them a step up and be giving them a wage increase. Newcastles issue I guess is that they've been trying to compete with bigger clubs for players but if they shop a level below I doubt players will refuse to sign for them.
I'm just wondering ,are the Scottish League threads bereft of a similar appraisal system ? If they are, maybe you could start one and title it 'What's this all aboot ye wee coont' If you get me like ?
They then tried to get Chelsea's David Datro Fofana - but he turned the club down and agreed a deal with Charlton, although it was not completed in time. Player prefers a Championship side rather than one who will probably win the league and are in Europe.
I used to spend a lot of time in Edinburgh drinking at the Grassmarket so I get this about Rangers fans. I used to get "Yee a Scooser aye " when I'd answer in the affirmative it would be quickly followed by "Kenny Dalglish is a coont " TBF this was more when I was foolish enough to drink in the Spoons ,we believed it would be a more eclectic clientele ,but we were mistaken. I mean I used to be a handy lad ,but I'm not f*cking stupid enough to argue with lads that looked like they had dropped straight out of The Hills have Eyes
8.5/10 it’s early days but Joao Pedro looks like a star and Delap looks like a solid striker as well. If you add in Estevao to this window, it could be the core of great young attacking players. I’m not sold on Gittens especially for the money and I don’t like Garnacho but don’t think that value is bad for a homegrown player. The sales drive up the total score and are almost a 10/10. Insane money for Madueke, getting Felix off the books is great, and I’m shocked they got as much from an Italian side as they did for an Nkunku who essentially got 3 years older with injuries since he was signed and went for good value. Add in that Burnley, Everton, and Bournemouth spent £85M on dead wood and Bayern’s move for Jackson and it should give a lot more flexibility. I believe the window was a good net gain on sales.
so mr international or someone (else, not me!!) going to do a transfer window league table so we can see who won.......? joking aside plenty on here seem willing to do their 1-20 of whatever so you conceivably could get those who wanted to's 1-20 of the window and compile a forum view of who won the transfer window aka "on paper" league title, who got relegated etc.......... will Sunderland make the Champions League places of the transfer window? Are Liverpool the formality favourites and top the table? Who will get relegated due to perceived lack of recruitment....?
Maybe someone can tell us if chelsea won the transfer window? What did they buy the players for, what did they sell them for etc?
Liverpool did. Rating a transfer window boils down to three parameters on paper: Are you stronger, did you buy well and did you sell well? That's three yeps for Liverpool.
