Arrived during the international break in October so he had a week with the players before the first game. Brought in by the new owners to play entertaining football and bring success to the club.

Blues were well placed in 6th place in the league after eleven games before Rooney was appointed, they’d just scored seven goals in two games and taken maximum points.

Rooney has been in charge for two games, playing with a lone striker in both. No goals scored, no points gained. We are currently 12th in the league.

The lads have had 200 Rooney masks printed, so if you see a fat bloke in a tracksuit on the tele with a Wayne Rooney face, that’s not me, that’s actual Wayne Rooney..

Another fraud in the same league as Lampard and Gerrard?

I suspect these "hollywood" names are too far up their own arses to be decent managers. Too many years of believing their own hype.

Interesting comment on The Overlap (Nevilles podcast - excellent and well worth a watch by the way) can't remember who from, saying that these managers that were players at the top of the game don't have the same drive for success as managers who come from relative obscurity.

It's going exactly as I (and no doubt many others) hoped.

Brady etc. deserve everything they get for being so dumb.

No, Lampard and Gerrard at least had some form of successes in their early jobs, Rooneys biggest achievement would have been finishing 17th with Derby if it wasn't for points deductions

Side note but I think it’s unfair Gerrard and Lampard get lumped together. I know it’s because they were regularly compared in their playing days but Gerrard, despite how it went at Villa, managed an invincible season with Rangers after nine years without a title. Lampard on the other hand, has no achievements of note. Terrible manager.

Gerrard managed a team that at worst case scenario was going to finish second.

Anyway. Played three, lost three, one goal scored. Was sixth, now 14th.

I think he’s going to turn it around and if anybody is sacked it will be Garry Cook. According to rumours he’s extremely worried about losing his job.

I think that’s fair given the way the sacking of Eustace, was handled. He’s also heaped unnecessary pressure on Rooney, by mentioning no fear football, would be the brand of Birmingham moving forward.

Was there any way in which his sacking could have been well handled?

At the end of the day there was no actual good reason to sack him. Your owners just wanted a "name".

Apparently the first team squad played the U21’s on Tuesday and Rooney said he’s happy with the progress the team have made in relation to how he wants them playing.

Rumours that the U21’s won 4-0 have yet to be confirmed..

I'm not sure that's entirely fair to Lampard. He did a good job at Derby (playoff final) and in his first year at Chelsea (top four during a transfer embargo). His problem is that those relative successes have been forgotten amid how his career has nosedived since.

He played bloody Mason Bennett up top in the final, leaving a inform Marriott on the bench we was beat before a ball was even kicked, the worst decision I have ever seen by a manager.
